Civic Type R help

Mates got a Type R with standard 205/45/17 wheels on.

Can he use 225/40/18 wheels without problems or needing to modify arch?

Would he seriously want to mess about with a nice car by rolling the arches. His dealer should be able to answer the other question tho!!

He should use 215/35/18 tyres if hes changing to 18" wheels.
