car stammers when i turn the key

i really hope i can get this sorted because its getting embarrassing

when i turn the key in the ignition the car stammers for 2 seconds then fires up

i am just wondering what can i replace or do to make it start instantly when i turn the key

as usual any help is greatly appreciated

you've got to give the engine time to turn over to the ignition stroke before it can start.

im just thinking some part of the engine has worn down because it used to start immediately not so long ago
and this problem seems to slowly be getting worse

Mine does the same thing. Some days it is worse than others...it varies as to whether I have been running it earlier in the day or not. I find that if I have been running it, then left it and come back to it an hour or so later it isnt as bad - starts straight away. I don't think it is anything major, just needs a moment or two to think about it in the mornings. It always starts tho!
