Can you get away with a little lowering without changing the Panhard Rod?

Hi there!!

I know its not really the correct way to do it but I was just wondering!

If i was to do a temperory mod of lopping off 1 coil all the way round for instance, just to give it a bit of lowness, would not changing the Panhard Rod for an adjustable one have any major adverse effects or will it just be negledgable???

I know going for a major slam prob would but would it cause any serious issues??

Im just running a little low on cash for the full setup i want so was wondering if I can get away with it for now??

You can buy some bushes of frank, it will shift the panhard rod back into its proper position.

cheers eliot :grinning: i would have to source some more nylon bar to make any more tho
and i doubt if 1 coil will drop the front at all sivlia14, there,s quite a lot of preload in the fronts
try some drop then measure the poke/tuck difference on the rear, then decide about the p/rod eh

I lowered mine 30mm and had no problems. The wheels are too far in the arches as standard to scrub. It was only a problem for me with 15" wheels on

Dropped mine -35mm on lowering springs, running on 15s no problem at all

This was my plan but after seeing the comment before this one I'm concerned as it's my daily drive and I can't risk her not working...

195/45x15 tyres on 6.5x15 et38 offset lowered 35mm four up and a boot full absolutely no trouble at all.
