Camshaft position sensor

Interested in buying a 2003 micra,but the dealer says it cuts out from time to time.ECU is registering a fault with the camshaft position sensor. Is this an easy fix and if so what would the cost be

NO easy fix!

Engine out job costs about £1200 + VAT. Classic symptoms of the dreaded K12 Micra curse, “Stretched timing chain” that renders the 2003 vehicle an economic write off fit only to be sold as scrap.

No no, if no engine timing chain rattle then all likely fine. Just replace the sensor which are 100 from Nissan. Do the Crankshaft one too at same time. All in a diy 200 pound fix.
