Busy time with the 94 slx!

Been busy with the old girl this last few weeks ? got the new panhard and brake discs/pads installed, passed the mot after the 2year gap and treated her to 5 Toyo tyres, the first tyres I have bought the car in 10 years of ownership!
She drives very smoothly and the made in Japan tyres really hold the road in these now badish conditions, I am impressed with the Toyos!
Direct line had quoted £161 for this years insurance, I went to pay the policy today and the berks refused to cover her as they now only take cars up to 26 years old!??
got insured via Adrian Flux for £179 on a modern classic policy but had to put the Volvo S60 2t turbo petrol back on the road with Directline for £162!
I love driving the Micra but sometimes it is cold enough to enjoy the s60!?

Interesting about the insurance as my other K11 (SLX), I had to pay for whack on the policy, as my daily runner takes the no claims bonus I am sure it was Flux who said it (the K11) couldn't go on a classic policy as not old enough.

I had trouble getting the k11 insured at 20 years old, we have a restricted amount of companies who will cover in Northern Ireland, Direct Line we’re the only company who would cover her, £143 for that first year ironically! Drifted over 6 years up to £161 which I don’t think is bad considering the percentages car insurance has been hiked the last 6 years.
I suppose £179 without using my NCD is fairly good, fully comp too which I rarely go for.
Direct line are messers, they quoted me £499 for the Volvo by letter when the policy ramped round, but when I allowed it to expire a few days, it dropped to the £162!?!

They are good prices you got for the K11.
In June when my 1994 K11 LX gearbox gave up the ghost, I replaced it with a 1994 SLX.
I thought when phoning Churchill up for notification of the change (policy 6 months in), it would be say £20 a year max more, or even no charge? It was approx another £80 and that was for 6 months, it's exactly the same vehicle barring the trim level. Complete p*** take.
