bump strip glue???

What on earth are these damn things stuck on with????

I've got the strips off with no paint loss (thankfully), but I'm left with the glue residue...

Tried boiling hot water, hairdryer, TIM clean (usually used to remove thermal compound from computer processors!), T-Cut...
After 2 hours of graft I've got one side looking better - but still some residue left.

Hellllllllllllllp!!!

You need some Kerosene mate and a spare card. I just comes right off no problem.
The problem is gettin your hands on Kerosene.

Im guessing that petrol or white spirits (in moderation) may do the same job?

*sigh*

I've just used cellulose thinners on my car to get the glue off left from removing my Inspiration stickers. It doesn't seem to have had any affect on the paint at all :grinning:

parrifin you can buy from B&Q
buy you need to be over 21 to buy it i was rageing when i got refused

get a caramel wheel/eraser wheel/pinstripe removal wheel from your local car paint supply specialist or paintshop. only costs me £5, smells nice and does a neat quick job removing adhesives and sealants.

be careful to use em very slowly and only till the glue/sealant is rubbed off the surface or it'll start to scratch the paint.

hahahaha am in the same boat got one side of with heat gun and petrol and an old card you get with filler only got one side of thought not had time for the other

i used a caramel wheel thing for mine, didn't scratch the paint either no matter how hard i pressed on or left it on the door.

Vinegar & Bi-Carb with warm water, just a small plastic jug fall of warm water with about 100ml of white vinegar and a tablespoon of bi-carb, use a non-stick sponge to gently remove any sticky mess, works well with just about anything sticky especially window stickers, body bump strips, number plate sticky pads, excess sealent etc. - and you should at least have some in your kitchen,(also very good at cleaning windows, especially if you smoke)

Once clean, rinse well, again with some warm water, if you're about to re-stick anything on, meths makes a very good spirit wipe :)
