Well I got a fury works bottom brace ( it was £30 new ) and well it was cheap , sat way too low and poor finish so I ended up making one that sits 5mmm off the member and better finish made from 3mmm thick tube and plate then dc arc welded with a good solid penetration all round and some redlead
the car is surprisingly tighter, steering seems but more responsive
Not bad for a few hours in the garage with some scrap lol,

That's what it's all about with these cars, diy

yeah very true
Well I went and also made a strut brace copied from. A omp one and missed so it fitted around the power steering and airbox cleanly
Funny thing is it's cost less to make both of them then buy a one made cheap lol

thought i was lucky, but its only a small bit , chop and weld ;)

Well got little more done , phone was acting up then completely died but decided to come back to life
Anyways found some rust on the o/s sill and little tic tac sized one in the rear
Posts of rust stuff (it's why it's back)
New vents from a d22 chopped and modded , they are deep and has a inside raise of 1 inch with flaps
Car only fought fire a few times haha
Dont but cheap front drop links they seem crap too thin and basically they are just generic, but the originals are worn and heavily corroded
In places there's nearly a inch of underseal, didn't know the car had so many shapes or seem s ,

Got some of the axle done grandmother bits
Now but off topic but last year I got a sport+ and we'll went to it to get some more bits off it and found it's literally dropping to but , kinda scary to thing I drove it
Literally bits off chassis will fall off in your hands

Brake lines look knacker , wipes them they look like new and there no rust of putting just all surface it's weird but what ever they are getting done aswell

I think there should be a car sized drive through dip, which is full of Krust. You could then drive through and coat the whole of the underside and treat and rust in an instant!
take it to the dragons den , just think tho how bad some car are, goes in come out as two badges and a steering wheel haha

not been up to much as my dads d21 lost its brakes and is living up to its name "the bastard " lol
so did some more on the floor, and well decided to use some jdm nissan d21 red to do the calipers and braces (i know i know , see how it goes)
and did not use a old hover cord, downpipe, drum , jack handle, and some blocks to hang them lol
the panhard looks crap but only cause i just used the excess and it will get replaced at some point
some pics are of the with and without the lacquer on

Well the trailing arms arrived and as expected they needed modding
The two bottom arms the handbrake mount was in the middle so chopped them off and welded the originals a little further down like the originals were and the top n/a didn't have a brake balance atm so welded the old one onto that
Noticed tho there's quite a few k11 spares that are fairly different to the original ,some to the point were they don't fit like how the should,
anyways going to spray the hubs and wishbones , then strip down. The struts and coils, and anti roll bars ,back plates etc and see if I can get the rear axle shot blasted
Then sort the o/s sill, finish to bits in the front wheel arch and tidy the front end up , and strip the main floor pan, as Well as two bits under the back seat ,then prime i think and paint yellow :)
And get some new bolts as I chopped half of the trailing arm off lol

so rebuilt the calipers with new seals and pistons,
top brace looks nice!
the trailing arms came and as expected like more aftermarket micra parts they are different
so welded on the original brackets to them and then rust treated and red oxide the new shocks, wishbone, hubs, primed and using chassis enamel did the hubs, drum and wish bones, still got another coat to go on
also got some weldable primer, more yellow lol, and a new spray gun ,
was going to do the o/s floor but the ipod broke, atm i need music and the computer got malware google chromium progam onit so been sorting that

some pics missing, found the coil pack top mounts after built different to the dizzy, (seem a bit better harder wearing/stiffer design
so finally got the fuel new stripped and painted , 4 coats of chassis enamel
rear axle done the same, rear shock, mounts, and trailing arms done in red, (pics are of the first crappy coat)
still got the tank bands, other back plate, anti roll bars, to do,
tho i ended up ordering a new set of front struts after one of mine blew out when i went to paint it :( , so new gas ones comming
got a new mp3, so that should help with working, as i done like the silence :(

fitted a boot light as it didnt have one but tipical micra had the wiring just wanted the switch (which it had when i fitted the boot release) just wired it up and made a plug from a old boot light i have a few of , tis bright in person
got some more painting to do and strip the tank bands, and waiting for a set of gas struts to come aswell,
today im just stripping the floor again and getting it all prepped up for paint

Got the front struts built up with new coils, and may use what it's got for bumbelbee
P270718_20.14.JPG

so got the apax coils cleaned up and fitted :D
and a new rear bumper from the silver k11 to replace my broken one,
also the other day got the rear axle all built up so thats pretty much rear to be put back on
at the minute not much has been done, aswell as with the storm its been damp in the air :( so any bare litrally rusts infront of you

so finally got the floor all stripped down, and treated, repaired, (only the rear floor rail) and red oxide,
still got the o/s outer sill to do
now inner mud flaps made, to replace the rotted and chopped rear vents , it also works as the bumper mount as i dont like how before the bumper jiggled at 70 lol
also tried the heatgun on the new bumper ,works well to get rid of oxidization
once the bit of sill is done , its seal the seams then paint the whole underside yellow :)

Thanks, I got to update this, haven't been able to on the tablet, she's now built up and on the road, just gone through the break in period, still got the anti roll bars, New rear bumper and tow bar to paint and fit, the n after that's the odds,
but anyone could do this really it's just time and effort /lack of a social life haha
When I g st around im going to put up a little thing of places they rot, rust , water traps, ECT , since I kinda studied the micra s I've owned and seen in the scrapyards.
I'm just on to a 51 plate active 1.4 , tho that will be just welding and repairs (partly a other victim of garage bodges and factory+ added underseal)

augest 18th , got a twin sub and amp for helping a mate with his sill, upset the everyone in the village as they didnt enjoy bass boosted pendulum water colour lol

mot passed like nothing , 100miles bed in and a car meet,
went over all the bolts, later found the brakes to be pretty aggressive and well found it cause the caliper bolts to come loose so had to re locktight ect them

other then the rear of bumblebee its the same hight haha, its always sat down at the rear, probs the extra weight ,
the activ was a cheap side project, turned out to be a tale of good car bodgy mechanics, so a lot of welding and sorting stupid things, got it sorted and took it to get mot and vosa were there, so it barely came out alive, had to weld some minor bits but it passed and now owned by a mate

abit of a throw back , last year i bought a 1.4 sport+ with 68k, turned out to be a turd, mains, rings, water pump, rad were failed/failing, rear axle was rotten, sills, rotten ancher points, under the seat, boot floor, rear crossmember, inner arch, rear foot well were all rotten and later found the rear legs were rotten , wishbone mounts, front chassis rails, it was litrally a bag of worms, eveything was clean but soon as you began work it showed its true colours, but 28th of august, just over a year and regaining my mind, and stipped it out, i scrapped it
