Bonnet release

Not having a good day today..

Just tried popping my bonnet, and it won't release.

When i pull the handle inside the car, nothing happens, whereas it should pop up to then be fully released by the catch above the grill..

How can i get it open?!

is the cable really slack....or does it feel the same resistance as usual! lol not a good day so far...:sleepy:

Feels the same as normal.

But even if it was slack, i can't get under the bonnet to tighten it!

I think you can knock the catch with a screwdriver at the point it connects to the cable. The old mini's used to be so easy, no cables to snap lol.

no if it was slack you might have snapped it! lol

umm how about pulling the cable out of the leever and trying to pull it more then is usually intended?

I can't see anywhere that sticking a screwdriver in would help
And i can't get to the cable to pull it

it sounds like it might have come loose at the bonnet end.

olly has the right idea. find where the mechenism is at the bonnet and see if you can see where the cable is attched too. then poke it with a screwdriver...

if it feels like it usually does, pull the handle and hold it open then get someone to give to bonnet a push / pull motion...happened with mine when the latch was getting sticky, and that got it open so i could grease it all up.

At least you haven't got a K10, if the cable snaps on them you have no hope lol.
