Best place to source alloys?

Hi all,

First post so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I bought my K11 (2002) mid april with roughly 38000 on the clock. Everything working fine, just passed its MOT no advisories. Here is what I've done so far:
  • Replaced Rocker Cover gasket and repainted cover (Pics at the bottom of post). The only real build up of any gunk was on the drivers side of the rocker cover, decided to replace the gasket and repaint the cover whilst I was at it.
  • Replaced Rocker Cover and Spark Plug coil pack bolts with stainless steel bolts. Only a minor thing, hardly feels worth mentioning but makes the engine bay looks so much cleaner. The originals were all pretty corroded anyway.
  • Replaced front door speakers with some JBL Clubs. Super easy, brackets for the new ones needed some smaller holes drilling in the door but no dramas here.
  • Replaced rear parcel shelf with the stock one which has speakers fitted. Haven't replaced the speakers, but don't feel I'll need to. Added bonus, the clips on the original shelf which slot into the back of the seats and hold it in place were broken so it was definitely worth changing!
  • Replaced Stereo. Again, hardly feels worth mentioning but the one it had before was falling apart (Somehow). I wanted bluetooth too so this was a 2 birds one stone situation I guess.
I'm currently waiting for the bits to arrive for a cold air intake setup to tidy up the engine bay a bit, as I feel the stock assembly looks terrible. Don't think I'll feel any performance difference but it will keep me happy.

Onto the main point of my post though
I am keen to keep the exterior of the car looking as close to stock as possible. What can I say? I like her figure. That being said, I want some alloys. Ideally I would just put some of the stock set from the SE model but I haven't had any luck finding a set yet. (If someone happens to be selling some, let me know!)

Where is the best place to source a set of alloys for the Micra? I've been researching all of the relevant info so I know which dimensions I need. I'm concerned that the Micra seems to have a large center bore. Having never fitted a different set of wheels to a car I am erring on the side of caution.

Any advice on shopping for a set would be appreciated!

After painting, I hadn't shortened all of the new bolts at this point:

Micra alloys are a tough one to find now buddy, they do come up very, very occasionally but could be a bit of a wait.... they tend to crush them as soon as they come into the scrappers now (!)
They would be around £120 plus postage if they do (!)
I put a set of MX 5's on mine, had to ream out the centre bore but looked OK I thought.

Plenty of K12 alloys on ebay, just need something to change the centre bore from 60.1mm to 59.1mm, 0.5mm shim....

I'm going around a couple of the local breakers this weekend, one of which specifically caters for Japanese cars. I'm hoping I might find a hidden gem. (Fingers crossed)

I've seen a couple of people saying that the MX 5 wheels fit ok. I'd prefer it if there was something with a matching center bore!

I had a quick look and the only K12 alloys I could find were 15" plus, I was planning on keeping the rim size the same as I have currently which is 14".

The alternative to alloys is going for a blast and paint of the current steelies. Two tone might like ok? Silver around the circumference of the rim and black throughout the center.

MX 5s need to be reamed out, they are not a straight fit - had them on mine.

Here she is ....but sold now :(

You would use a spigot ring for that buddy ....search ebay ...plenty on there.
Not for adapting between 60.1mm and 59.1mm there isn't as the clearance between the two diameters is only 0.5mm or just under 20 thousandths of an inch, which is why I suggested 0.5mm shim

Well as they are made of plastic, at 20 thou maximum thickness, I would expect them to last one time of fitting the wheel only, if you were VERY careful and lucky, don't see them lasting refitting a wheel after they have been heat cycled from braking.......
Had them on mine for a year with no problems buddy.

How many times have you had the wheels on and off? Initially fitting them, if you really cleaned the hub spigot and wheel bore and very carefully fitted the wheel should be OK but would have expected them to degrade/crack if wheels were changed after a period of time.......

It's a pretty tough plastic bud, they use plastic trays for cooking in ovens these days (!)
Just tap them into the wheel and away you go ...never had a problem with them.
You may be able to get the in alloy ...never looked for that.
