We ended up man handeling it out even after I borrowed engine hoist from work. But it leaked its fluids all over the van on the way there

started to strip the new engine and found this, looks like it hasnt been looiked after at all :(, had 110k on when i removed it heads coming off for a gasket so ill inspect further on stripp down,

and almost sorted a new daily driver :)

thick deposit build up on the bottom of the crank main caps
was also thick build up in the sump too looks like it needs a full rebuild, will know better when the head comes off

had a little tidy up aswell as stripped more engine,

crank main bearing cap bolts covered in crud too :/ @pollyp did you retap bolts and threads on your rebuilds? think it would be a good idea?

Heya belly, yes I always wirebrush, tap n die then flush each thread with carb cleaner & rag so they're spotless.

Test screw each bolt n nut n they should finger tighten with no gritty or resistance.

All major important threads prone to vibrations are threadlocked. All threads prone to seizing are copper greased. Headbolt threads r engine oiled and the headbolt washers r greased to ensure they don't stutter during torquing.

the adjuster mechanism on the passenger seat meant i need to space the rail out from the seat so trial fitted with nuts between rail and seat seemed to clear, just need to drill an extra hole in both runners on the passenger seat and get some high tensile bolts to fit and thats passenger done :)

drivers seat on the other hand the rails dont unbolt :/ so ive started to strip the bottom off the seat all but one bolt out because i didnt have the right socket with me,
