Tech / Mechanics Auto electricians. Anti- hijack mechanism faulty.

Hi.
My 1997 K11 Cabriolet had the anti-hijack facility and an after-market alarm fitted with RCL. The RCL was intermittent and annoying and I have just had the solenoid changed. The RCL works great but now the anti-hijack mechanism isn't working properly. The anti-hijack button is on the arm rest console on the driver's side door, if I wanted to operate it manually. The anti-hijack mechanism would work automatically as soon as the car started to drive off. However, t doesn't work any more when I'm going forward and when I press the manual button, only the passenger side locks.

I was wondering if anyone has an idea how to repair this? eg, is it a wire which may have become disconnected or a fuse that's blown? If so, what ones? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks, Bobbina. :)

Hi Bobbina it's been a while since we have heard from you hope your still enjoying your Cabriolet! Can you post a few pics of the anti-hijack button/switch/mechanism that might help us identify the problem especially of the plugs/connectors inside the armrest?

Cheers
Andy :)

Hi Andy.

Yes, I am loving my little car and it's my only mode of transport now. The anti hijack now seems to have 'righted' itself (possibly reset) and works really well (so far!). Hope you are still enjoying yours in the sunny weather.:)

I will have to start another thread as I need a new hood and haven't had much luck locally (Midlands) in finding anyone interested in recovering the frame.

Hi glad to hear the the problem has sorted itself out, I remember you saying you were going to get the interior plastic trim painted if you did how did it turn out and if poss could you post some pics of it? I will have a look for some possible contacts I have who specialise in replacement soft top roofs could you post some pics of your roof from different angles and the areas of concern? The majority of Cab roofs have now had their original vinyl roofs replaced but different upholstery companies so are all slightly different now, my roof was replaced by Nissan UK before I bought the Cab so is like new apart from a small wear tear below the rear glass window! :-(
Look forward to hearing from you again and if possible please post some pics of you Cab?
Cheers
Andy B-)

Hi Andy. Nice to hear from you. I have been quoted £1050 to replace my whole hood (new perspex window and full mohair hood. Does this seem reasonable? If you have any contacts that may be able to help me, that would be great. As requested, here are some pics of the old girl. She needs a good valet as well as a new hood! :)

It's poring in the Midlands at the moment...hope the poor hood stands up to it. At least it will get rid of the dust on the body work! Micra DS rear.jpg Micra left and back.jpg Micra rear.jpg mICRA SIDE.jpg Micra2.jpg P1070378.JPG P1070379.JPG P1070380.JPG

Hi thanks for posting the pics always good to see other Cabs, did you get the interior plastic trim painted? IMHO the quote you got for a mohair roof is good if that includes fitting. I have heard quotes in the region of £1500 to £2300 for replacement mohair roofs!
