Lights on!

My idea is not direct bolt-on, this requires little bit tinkering and electrical know-how. If you have clear front turn signals, use these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-20W-Am...Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ae21e4533&vxp=mtr with these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-1157-2...Parts_Accessories&hash=item233823c715&vxp=mtr. Then your turn signal work as DLRs and blinkers, without any visible modification to vehicle ;)
I've done the DLR for A3. Its very easy job to do. Its kind of same as connecting HID kits.
Anyway i went for direct bolt on with Micra.
Here is the result of your idea :-D :-D

Does your construction have turn signals in same?
I still haven't got the time to fix into the car. But my plan was (see my current DLR set up) replace the current white small LED to orange/amber LED. That will be use as indicators. Rewire sidelights and indicator lights.

G'day azb786!
Could you measure, marked with red in the picture, diameter of socket opening in turning signal?
Or anyone who has this measurement easily available!
Here in The Land Of The Finn's is bit chilly to disassemble grill for measurement :(

Hello Mike

I hope you can help me.

I have bought the same LED switchback kit as you did, but I can not get it work.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/16155083609...&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true

The turn signal connector was easy to install, and when connected the red wire to battery + I got a bright white light from the DRL LEDs.
But when I activate my turn signal I don't get the switchback effect. The lights starts to blink white and not amber?

Does your kit works correctly?
Also does your load resistors get really really hot?

I was really looking forward to seeing the LED on my K12 :(

G'day MicraSport!

Name is Mika :) (been since 1966 :D).

Did you first tried them with external power source or battery, that they actually work? Mine aren't connected yet, due lack of time.

I tested mine with battery right after arrival of them and they are working properly. Load resistors are getting hot, it's resistors function when lowering voltage, to get hot.

Don't give up, test them first and complain to seller, if they don't work.

G'day!
Now I finally had time to install the DRL's, easy to install and works fine. Now my headlights look like candles compared bright blueish light in DRL's, got to get xenon's... ;)

My kit works perfectly. I connected orange circled wire in the picture to constant 12V. Cut sockets off from DRL kit and also cut connectors off from Micras wire harness then connected red and black to to vehicles original wires.

Now similar ones are cheap on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/No-Hyper-Fl...ash=item3d1c3aac48:g:M9AAAOSwnFZXUVcI&vxp=mtr

Are yours DRL's working already?

Just wondering if anyone on here has fitted DRL's on their Micra that look factory fitted?...
John, with your option you have to mount something to front of your vehicle...
By using original indicators, you only need some connectors, few meters of wire and one automotive relay ;)
And DRL's look like been mounted in the factory.

Rather keep them independent of the indicators Mika, don't want to detract from the visual operation of the indicators. Indicators in the same same lamp housing, as bright DLR's, wouldn't be able to be seen by other road users as well. :0(

Bright white DLR's will change to yellow inside lamp housing when turn signal is used, so it flashes in bright yellow. When turn signal is turned off, there is 1 sec delay, after this time bright white is back on. And Audi, Mercedes and BMW's are having same or similar function in their DRL's.
Everyone should use their common sense when modifying turn signals.

I went today to Finnish MOT place, turn signal housings aren't EU approved as DRL's, so nose of my Micra is illegal now...
Please check UK MOT rules and take this to consideration if planning to install DRL's.

In my opinion these don't detract from the visual operation of the indicators and other road users are visually able to see difference between DRL and turn signals due color difference, even they are in same housing.
Simple visual example of my Micra with DRL's on youtube now https://youtu.be/HCeLKCHS18I.
