Well it was suggested to me. So..

Hi. I bought franks white turbo beast a while back now. And enjoyed the cg13 turbo annihilation machine. Right up until it blowed up.

So that day i decided to purchase an sr20... just cos.

Its still sat in my garden waiting to be sold... because....

The next day i got a hold of a perfect running eGT for £200.

Sold.
Also sold was the turbo stuff which.... surprisingly only took 40 mins to remove.

And i did pretty much nothing after that as my backs been foobard.

But as im on the mendymoo i thought id crack on.

So.

I bought myself an engine crane and started ripping out the heart of the micra.

Theres currently no ecu. No loom. No dash and no interior. Just a blank canvas waiting to be removed of its innocence.
No headlighrs. No grille and nothing holding in the engine but two mounts.

The primera is my mobile garage on wheels right now... but its being demolished too... no dash or clocks (after fighting with the little sods for an hour) theyre oot

Just need to remove one bolt on the passenger side and a rivet from the heater duct and the whole dash will be removed.

Then i can get on with dismantling the front of the primera and removing the cg13 from the micra.....

Ive got till the 7th then im back at work grr...

I might cut the 20cm off the passenger side of the primera dash and fit it in the micra lol...

Indeed... its not 100%. But certainly not a cripple anymore...

Oooh, progress!

Part of me thinks about running a build thread but I think people would get bored once they realized it was just another photo of a cheque :D

90% of loom pulled from primera. Bloody thing... had an aftermarket alarm bodged into every orifice.. traced them back and cut them off at the source.

Every plug im not going to use such as leccy windas and mirrors. Central locking and stereo crap.

Was a big job.

Also took out the airbox and battery tray to get to the rest of the loom....

Then pissed it down and im almost ready to take off the wings to pull the loom through the bulkhead...

Oops meant to say im cutting off the plugs of everything i dont need and will strip the loom back once its out

Loom is out of the primera.

Man its about 400 times more complicated than the micra one.

This is going to be a mission just to sort out where everything goes.

Theres abs wires. Central locking. Aircon. Power steering. Leccy mirrors and windows. Fog lights. Electric adjust headlights. All the warning light systems etc......... its all gotta be stripped down to the bare minimum...

Ive found crank angle sensor. Rear lights and fuel pump so far aargh.. .

Its a case of laying out the loom as it was in the car and going through wiring colours in the haynes. Cutting off the connectors you dont need like abs. Central locking. Speakers. Electric windows. Alarm. Etc and tracing them back through the loom..removing everything they connect to.... relays and fuses etc.

Easier if you can leave the switches and gauges plugged in. Everything else is just investagating.

So for the rear of the car i will only need rear lights that include side, brake, indicator/hazzard, number plate, reverse and fog light wiring and the fuel pump.
Everything else beyond the dashboard is scrap.

The front will require,
Brake light switch. Headlights and relay for high/low. Indicators and sides. Wash wipe. Engine harness. Ecu power. Ignition and charging curcuit. Gauges. Switches for fogs and hazzards. Stalks. And finally fuses relays and consult

All else is surplus

I cant believe how untidy the stock loom is..

Never heard of wiring husbandry obviously..

Braid?
No.. lay them out flat and make sure none of them cross. No sharp turns of any radius of 1"(or less) transitions and junctions tied off with lacing cord and stress releaved. All curcuits labled and colour coded then correctly routed and p-clipped appropriately so as to not rub or cause indue strain or stress......

Grr... lol

Oh the joys..

Could getrid of some of the multiple feed wires onto a bus bar...

Need to take the angle grinder to the steering column. To remove the lock barrel and the three welded tabs that hold the stalks on.

Oh yes it is.

Got some tools and a sheet of 1.2mm steel... gonna reinforce the wobbly bits in the bay. They might not look 100%. But theyre not going to deteriorate any further.

Got a set square. Steel rule. Xmas tree drill. Drill bits. Multimeter. Sharpie. Flap wheel for the angle grinder. Centre punch.... and lots of time after xmas.

Right... im at the hospital with the wife off for our 20 week scan.
Should know in the next half hour.... pink or blue....
