Well, I've had it a year so I thought I'd share it with you.

Bought my Black Evo 8 260 model 55 plate last November for £8k with 43000 on the clock.

Was love at first sight.

All it needed was a wash.

So I got it back home and cleaned her..

It was then time to sort out the looks.

Spoiler came off and the paint was removed to reveal a full carbon spoiler.

Then it was the front that got some attention.

Intercooler painted black.

Lower pipe replaced

Headlights de chromed.

Then the splitter, genuine ralliart part, 30 quid, cost me a tenner to repair the crack....

So now she sits like this.

But I'm never satisfied.

I've fitted hks filter, hks turbo back exhaust, walbro pump, and remapped to see 323bhp at the flywheel at 24psi. (misfired a bit)

And now for handling.

Mmmm

Hsd coilovers and dd lower arms. Being fitted this week

And my latest acquirement,

Enkei rct4 tarmac spec WRC wheels. The rarest of the rare wheels in 18x9 et30.

So, my next post should include the car on new shoes and legs lol.

But what colour to paint the rims????

Naah, no need. I'm not doing track days or anything.

Getting it sitting in a slight nose down stance, enough clearance for my 18's, and tracking straight...
That'll do...

Nice buy Ant and good to have you back on the forums :)

Careful with RAYS nuts. Having just acquired a set of formula nuts, the market is so flooded with fakes, it's a very hard job to buy real ones these days :|

Nice Evo! Always preferred Subaru though ;)
I would have though Andy would be helpful regarding Evo's if you ever get stuck! :D

Edit:He's already commented, my bad hahahaha

Have you ever driven an evo or scooby?

Because if you had, you'd never touch a scooby again.. Lol

They're understeering unreliable torqueless cars...

Evo is where the fun is.

My parents had a few when I was younger and always supported Peter Solberg so never looked at Evo's..
I've driven one on my dads lap when I was 6 if that counts? :p hahaha!

Tbf all the scoobys I've driven have been awesome handling machines, but then again they have been stage prepped :)

The worst part of the scooby is the engine.

The ej20 block would fail at much more than stock power levels.

The 4g63t on the other hand.. More than capable of handling 450bhp and 450ftlbs

The stock scooby engine, to get to 400bhp takes thousands of pounds. Forged internals, different head gaskets, fuel pumps, intercooler, injectors, turbo, remap, cams, exhaust etc etc.

The stock evo viii Mr engine needs, for 400bhp. Fuel pump, exhaust, filter and boost control n remap.

The subaru sounds like it's constantly on 3 cylinders.

The evo can rev to 11000rpm in race trim.

The subaru is common as much,

The evo is more exclusive.

And I'm sorry but I will never forgive the bug eyes and kia rio styling..... What we're they thinking?

See I've never driven an evo
Tbh from what I've read evos are meant to be better though
Watch some videos of evo vs scooby....

The evo wins 99% of the time.

The 1% loss is usually cos they pit the spec c impreza against the stock evo viii gsr.

Mr fq 400 ftw! Lol

Meh, never going to win. People like scoobys, people like evos.

All I know is scoobys are more common rally cars :p beauty is in the eyes of the beholder eh

Hmm.. I've never actually looked at any figures or anything with Scooby tuning. More interested in the rallying and they're limited to 300hp anyway, just have loads of torque.
And yeah they are common as heck now!

Prodrive took it to 305hp if I remember correctly, which was more than enough for my parents daily. It was the blob eye though, the bug eye was horrendous! At least the Scoob wasn't common in 2004 :D

It was always the way the subaru was marketed as a rival to the evo, having tuning packages and special editions.
But the reality was that even the stock evo 8 wiped the floor with all but the p1 scoobies.

Check out the top gear power lap board.

The "fastest" scooby is a full 5 seconds behind the fq320 evo 8.

And there hasn't been a scooby production car that can live with the fq400.

I'll see if I can get the lap times up.

2.5l subaru wrx sti - 1:28.2
Evo viii Mr fq400 1:24.8

So with 500cc more capacity, and 5 years more development..... It's over 3 seconds slower....

Lol @scooby.

EVO needs much more servicing, especially the 400. Power outputs between the evo400 and the sti are different, not comparable really :p

It's a massive rift, people that like evos will always like evos :p I'm undecided yet haha

Lol, I admit the power levels of those two are different.

But..

The 330bhp versions of both are still 4 seconds a lap difference.

But anyway.

I love my car.

Owners will always defend their own cars :p Just the same as when my parents had the scoob, my grandads Sunny Pulsar was a "sh*tty Nissan"
Now look at me!
