amp problems

Hey People

I have just recently purchased an entry level subwoofer and amp
a little 10" SPLX Sub with a Sub Zero 400w Amp
after following all required instructions. my amp still won't power up
I've checked all the cables and they go where required
This has baffled me
after reading my head units instructions i made sure everything was in the right place, but still its not having any of it
its a K11 97reg Micra
the head unit is a Kenwood KDC 3027A
If anyone could help it would be immensly appreciated

So you have:
Red cable going from amp to battery,
Brown cable to a good earth point (bare metal on car body)
Small blue cable to back of head unit (or battery with switch)

If you've done all that check the fuses.

hey sorry for such a late reply, i managed to get the problem sorted.
hey it was a right pain in the ass to sort.

found out, the head units remote power on lead was faulty and did not power the amp on when head unit was powered.
found out the only ways to overcome this was to either buy a new head unit or get some type of bridged power output. i used the 2nd one.
i had some spare speaker cable so i went about wiring a switch into the dashboard that ran from the amps remote lead to the amps power lead, this sorted the problem out and allowed me to tinker with my new toy

just recently though i replaced the headunit (my girlfriends brother gave me a blaupunkt mp3 head unit), i had to purchase the pre amp cable, but now it all works sweet, spesh with my new acoustic parcel shelf up :)
