85 Honda CB125T

After the death of a family friend, I was asked if I wanted his motorbike.

Naturally I said yes, however this bike has been sat in a garage for 10+ years so it's in dire need of restoration.

At first inspection it needs a couple of things due to rust and age but I have all the time in the world to get it done (haven't got a licence)

So finally got the bike home, first things first break into it...

No pictures but I've relieved the fuel tank of its cap, unlocked the seat and broke the ignition

The to buy list and fix list is rather long but before I head into the depths of a money pit I'm going to see if it'll start, just need to get a new battery as the 13+ year old one has had it

Sooooo here I am at the moment....

Bike has been hotwired seeing as the ignition barrel was broken

Hooked up to a car battery via jump leads and we have power.

We have fuel (flooded the carbs)

We have air

We however don't have spark :(

Could be a bad earth on the CDI, try going around all the earthing points on the frame. Most likely cause is the CDi unit, as they are known to fail. I have a mate with one of these so i'll ask him and see what he says :)

Cheers Ben, it's doing my nut in

The whole bike could do with a strip and clean but I don't want to go through all that effort if the engine is ****ed, so if it'll fire I'll stick with the rebuild
