55bhp and 570lbs... (vids and pics)

I had spare MA10 engine with it's gearbox, driveshafts and front hubs. Then I had some parts from B11 and N13 Sunny. Then I found some pipe and welded all this together and this is what I got:

this is what driver will see: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v97/TeeKoo/valmis13.jpg

When I had finished the building, I weighed the whole thing with all the oils and liquids in and I got a little bit under 570lbs. With 55bhp/74Nm engine that gives the better power to weight ratio than Civic typeR or Alfa Romea 147 3.2 GTA:)

And here are some videos about that MA10 project, first a look around:
http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/tuomaskorhonen-2/pihatraktori-yleiskuva.asf (2,0Mb)

Starting the engine with both of the mufflers: http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/tuomaskorhonen-2/pihatraktori-normaalikaynnistys.asf (0,4Mb)

Starting the engine with 2 inch straight pipe (which can be seen in the beginning of the first vid): http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/tuomaskorhonen-2/pihatraktori-suorallaputkella.asf (1,1Mb) Does it sound nice?

Some driving around vid: http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/tuomaskorhonen-1/pihatraktori-ajelua.asf (4,9Mb)

Another drive around with little bit better resolution, but the film doesn't "roll" well: http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/tuomaskorhonen-2/pihatraktori-ajelua2.wmv (7,6Mb) Just in the end of the vid you can see how it starts accelerating with full throttle, but then I ran out of memory of my camera

If someone's interested about the building process, then here (in Nissan Club Finland's forum) are many pics of the building: http://www.ncf.fi/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=yleinen;action=display;num=1112038446;start=0 There is also some more pics on the third site.

Edit: Replaced broken video links

i'm interesting in seeing the videos so upload them here - http://www.moddedmicras.co.uk/upload/

The max file size is 500kb so I can't get them there. I'm trying to find some better place for the videos

10/10 for being a total fruitcake:D
Haha  you're not the first one who is saying that to me. In Nissan Club Finland's forum they are already guessing when I'm gonna kill myself with some of my projects :p

you crazy fool!

but that is pure genius, well done teekoo

thats crazy, i love it!

Good idea! hmmm... I don't know much about hovercrafts and atm I don't have spare MA10. But I have one spare E15 block, E15ET head, E15 exhaust manifold, so I need to find some carb somewhere and make intake manifold, then I'll have one more working engine for pumping the air. Or how about an aeroplane? But then it would be better to make turbine engine to it...

Let's see what I'll do in the future

Nice one mate! Top effort for excelling even your barmy standards :) Can't see your projects being that dangerous with your attention to safety with that seatbelt :D

Awesome! I think I must've missed this too!

Also noticed a lot of people have major things happening to their cars in 2006 ;) Bring it on

At the moment this "thing" hasn't got engine, because my dad needed it for his Micra. The body is also a little bit lighter now, because I ripped off that white "roll-bar" (which wouldn't help afterall if I would've crashed this), it looks like this nowadays: http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/tume/suncra.html (two pics on the bottom of the site)

I still have the engine from my dad's Micra but I haven't yet installed it, because winter is coming and there's no way to drive this on winter. Also the engine is running on 3 cylinders so I have to check what's wrong with it, maybe some piston ring is snapped because of the lack of compression or then a valve is f**ked. Well, I have the whole winter to rebuilt the engine and maybe do little tuning to it :)

With my cousin we've planned about building something like this with using the 1.8 carb engine of my Subaru Leone, or maybe building a 1.8 efi turbo engine from the parts of my Subaru's engine and my cousin's Leone turbo's engine. I have one spare Subaru Leone turbo 4wd gearbox as well as steering parts and the crossmember of the engine. My cousin has couple extra drivelines, complete rear suspension with differentials etc. and front suspension without front wheel hubs. So, only thing missing are the whell hubs to start building another one. I've also measured that Subaru's 1.8 boxer engine will fit to Micra's engine bay, so we've also planned about building a 4wd Micra ;) The engine that I'm atm installing to my Leone (2.0i quad cam turbo intercooler engine from Legacy RS) is only about half inch longer and wider than 1.8 Subaru engine and it will also fit in Micra's engine bay... We have to cut some of the fire wall off to get the gearbox fitted, but that's no problem because there aren't anyway any opportunities to get these projects street legal here in Finland :( But we need one spare K10 to start this and next week I'm going to go to see one ;)

Well, all the best of luck to you mate, and if you get any of those engines in a Micra, you will have one INSANE ride  Fastest Micra in Finland? ;) :D

Good luck and keep us up to date :)

James.

If I put that 2.0 turbo... then it might be :) There is one rwd Micra with VG30DE engine and one rwd with Volvo B230FT engine and they are (surprisingly) non street legal. But with 4wd I think I have an advantage because Micra is so light. That 2.0 turbo engine has 220bhp at 0,7bar (10psi) boost, but it's know that the engine can stand 1,3-1,4bar (19-20psi) boost pretty well. It's pretty much the same engine as in Imprezas, so there are lots of parts available and it has potential up to 500+hp (but I don't have enough money to get that far atm)
