2004,1.5 dci Oil Change

Hi guys

I want to change the Oil on my 2004 1.5 dci Micra but not 100% sure what oil to put in.

She has done 118,000 miles and has absolutely no issues.

The more I look around the more I get confused so could do with an expert helping me out : )

Fully synthetic or semi synthetic Fully is better than semi but by what degree I would rather change regularly with semi with new filter and washer. Grade , well all the grade means is how viscous it is at varying temps - low ie 0 degrees and high 100 degrees so 5w40 is better than 10w40 at 0 degrees as its viscosity is lower - it is less thick. Again you can judge where you live ...if its very very cold then 5w50 but in the vast majority 10w/40 is fine. or 5w/40.
So the upshot is 10w40 semi if you do a 6k change or fully if you are lazy - 5w50 if you can see polar bears outside.

I use Triple QX 5w40 fully syth from Eurocarparts. It's cheapish and fully Renault approved for the engine.
