Been a long time since the mountain has been graced with the Micras presence, always dead quiet up here too

Drives soooo much nicer now, them tyres stick like poo on a blanket and finally got the 30mm drop on the rear, I done the front like 9 months ago.
About 15 mile round trip and the lack of o2 sensor still hasn’t put the management light on which is handy cos the new one I bought is still on its way from Holland.....oops

Mot passed with flying colours, even with 1 cat and no O2 sensor it passed the emissions....just, which I find odd as I read most fail miserably.
ready just in time for my new job picking vegetables in Hereford :( the things we must do to earn a wage

Some douche came pushing through the single file with parked cars up my street, took the mirror clean off a parked focus and took the lens off mine...which flew in my window and smacked me in the eye lol

Sad day for the 22 year old clutch, gave up in a spectacular haze of stink.
I have read the luk kit is the best to go for, anyone know if this is the case or of any alternatives? I dont mind the 90 quid or more if there is a decent upgrade worth going for given the.....spirited driving it recieves

fanks for the input, I didnt have much luck with excedy in the mx5, ok for what you pay but i burnt it out in 3 months, probably from doing donuts lol.
I would like to upgrade but only see drivetorque brand for uprated which I have never heard of, bit risky with 140 quid for the stage 1

Alot of the rally and auto test use Luk without issues ,
Cheapo stock fail easy OEM and such take quite abit to blow,
And upgrade there paddle , organic ect but like one I felt it was stiff as hell, and not as nice to drive ,
Nissan orignally used Luk it's why the last as long,

I'm still on the original at 109k and 21 years lol

nice bit of info, if they use them on the autos cant be too bad, I had a stage 2 organic in my corolla T sport which was a pig in the wet, either spin the wheels or stall so in the currently vastly powerful micra I guess its just stall lol.
Given what you just said I think LUK is the way

Yeah,
It's what a lot recomend ,
And tbh alot of stock parts can go upto up and past alot of tuned ones are running,
Mean the manifold n/a is limited to 135hp
Polly got a organic clutch it's heavy as hell tbh, and as in the blog it's had the clutch pedel renforced lol,
And alot of people thrashing them find you snap the shafts before the clutch ,
Reminds me should get a one ready for mine

Been a while, sorted my new luk clutch and broke my phone in the process so no pics for the mo.

The new clutch is much better feels like i gained oooh at least 10bhp lol must of been slipping a while.

Been out for a good 1500 miles since the clutch done and ive rinsed my semi slicks, bit of play in the trackrod ends and the top mounts i fitted 8 months ago are now sqeaking too but it grips so well on the twisties I always end up with a grin.

A note on the supercharger, after some head scratching over an old casio the little eaton m24 charger (audi/vw 1.4 tsi) is going to be on its limit to get 8 or 9 psi up at 6.5k rpm as its designed to boost up to around 3k when a clutch cuts it off for the turbo to take over and the internal waste gate is not adjustable (not with my skill level anyway) so quite possibly maybe likely need to find a different charger lol.

And I was looking forward to hearing the charger buzz up to 16.5k rpm

Had a go at tinting the windows the other day, bought real cheap stuff for 6 quid that dont shrink so gave up on the main door windows. Happy with the result so ill buy some decent film and do the rest, the local guy to me wants £ 115 just to do the rear end nooooo way am i gonna pay that lol

anyone know how that small rear window rubber comes out? I got a pinstripe of light coming through where I had to trim it to exact size, it kept tearing when i left a bit to tuck in. I got no bubbles no lifting no creasing but do you think i can trim this stuff without leaving a gap and being 5% limo tint it looks like the sun itself is sneaking in.

Due to the worlds recent meltdown this is now the official NowInABitMotors work vehicle (didnt earn enough to buy my van lol)
Gonna be taking out the rear seats and boarding it out in the back.

The main big change is Im going to weld the rear doors up and smooth off the handles and make a proppa micra soupa van, i'll be starting this in the next week or so

Been a while now lol. No supercharger yet (global meltdown has delayed things) but a few mods done to help it stay on the road.

Main improvement being the gtir brakes fitted, Holly moley she stops on a penny, back end does some sort of jazz hand shimmy when on the limit, love it

Main deprovement being the 15 inch wheels and crappy toyo tyres,
Lost 15mph top end and less high speed corner stability, much better braking and wet weather grip tho the 14s did have semi slicks on :)

The zafira gsi half leather seats I was given fit mint after welding the tags from The micra straight to the rail and no more leaning on the passenger on roundabouts

Roof lining done to match the door cards now too

On another note I no longer have a garage (had to move) so fabricating parts is a bit hard now and too much of a skinflint to pay for something I could do lol.

I'm contemplating going high compression N/A as I can do most of it on ramps outside the house (neighbours love me haha)
And a head specialist only a few mile up the road now. any hints or tips beyond the 1ltr pistons? if around 110-115 brake is doable will more likely be the route I take now.

Thanks for reading dudes ✌

I guess N/A 100PS will mainly be possible with higher RPM's
Though i like the idea and was intending to go that road, too (but with the 1.0) i skipped it for now. Reasons is, you barely can get to the high revrange on the street, even with the shorter gears of the 1.0 (2nd gear would be at ~60mph with 7,5krpm)
you can imagine how thats gonna feel like...
And working the cylinder head to go to that rev range, might make the car lose tourque down low.

If you want to know how a tourquier engine overall would feel like, try original 13" steelies with the original size tyres, if you can find some cheap near you.
just to feel the difference

Supercharger: gizfab offers a kit for this. So you might not need a garage, but quite a bit of money.

I'd be excited to see a supercharged micra.

Indeed even with the low profile semi slicks on 14s it picked up a lot better,

Defo don't have the budget for anything off gizfab, he knows how to charge just don't sell the milkshake haha

I got this little amr500 sat here still, I think I can use an aircon pump bracket for one of the mounting points but I've never played with forced induction and have a severe lack of patience these days lol

But before any of that I need to fix my steering wobble, changed all engine mounts suspension/wishbones etc are all new wheels been balanced by a few places now swapped wheels around etc no change
last ditch attemp is the steering rack bushes, if they don't sort it I think I may have bent something

actually the stuff is cheap (very fairly prized) considering they are "handmade"
Ordering outside the UK and paying taxes on top is what makes them really expensive.

besides: be careful working outside. Any dirt getting in your Engine can cause lots of damage. And it's really hard to see a grain of sand in the oily mess. And it can get in there easy... just a lil bit of wind etc...

Lol I'm talking full on budget build no way I'm paying their price on parts for my little micra and that's in the uk, yes the quality is good but don't even have the cash to buy intercooler pipes at the moment.

I always work outside, If you haven't welded a chassis in the rain you haven't lived yet ?

[QUOTE="Daz1985, post: If you haven't welded a chassis in the rain you haven't lived yet [/QUOTE]

Amen to that lol shocks galore lol

I totally see your point of view a bolt on kit is always more as its done for you but if you can fabricate it's soo much cheaper.

I did buy the kit but I had cash spare everything else I don't mind fabbing up or modifying myself like the exhaust is a sportex full system for like 170 quid but I need to cut it and put flanges in for the cat.. again I don't mind. My safc neo I won for 25 quid on ebay. My wheels I got for 50 and I stripped cleaned and painted them myself

If you look around some of the best builds are budget or home built ones I'd love to throw 1000's at my car ( OK I put quia 1500 quid supercharger kit on a 200 quid car but it's the single most expensive bit so far) and buy everything you can for it but where's the fun in solving problems and the joy of sorting things yourself

Ah heavy duty bin liners and a pop up marquee does the trick ?
I think I've sunk about 2k into the car so far but over 3 years of tinkering so it didn't sting too bad lol,
I'm also running the sportex system been on 2 years and still in good nick, think it set me back £130 for the full cat back, propper chuffed with it.
I attempted to make a 4-1 manifold but the plate I bolted the flange to was too thin and it all went bananarama on me lol.
I think all I really need now is pipework, some brackets, an aircon pulley and another greddy as I sold mine a while back and I'll be able get it together.

Ignis turbo me and my friend built everything came from the local scrappy except the maxpeedingrods turbo and the ecu 350 to do the lot, but it looks like everything was sourced in a scrap yard lol

Doing it under cover.. luxury haha

I think I might go emanage at some point when it's on the road at the moment it'll just be in the rrfpr set up as per the kit and the safc neo and a wideband to try get it fuelling nicer

My last k11 years back was on a shoestring budget but was a riot hence me being back on here lol

I know the kit is 5psi and some people have run 10 on mapped turbo stuff but what actually let's go? I know Ringlands
Can you even get pistons and rods and where from?

I has a long term plan if it all works out time and money wise

That almost makes it look easy lol.

What charger you using there? Looks same as my amr500, defo sits right where I was going to put mine.

Also is that a draw through setup like with a carb? Might have overlooked that part of my setup, I was just going to send the boost to the throttle body.

I was told to watch the oil control rings haven't had much other info, I got my gtir brakes off a guy who said his blew on the dyno at 160bhp and it was the oil control rings that let go, I'm only looking for 5 to 8psi which should be fairly safe.....I hope lol I know it ain't going to be like my old pug 306 dturbo s, that was pushing 17.5 psi after we backed it off a bit

Yea it's an amr.

In the kit there is a fabricated plate to bolt the amr too and you relocate the alternator down basically like the guide someone put on here years back

The belt comes new so I've got the part number for that and the bypass valve is mini Cooper by the looks so spares should be easy even the tensioner bearing had a part number in the box

You need to source ga16 injectors
But are easy to fit
It is a bit fiddley to fit the belt and tensioner as they are near the chassis arm

I will be running both cats and probably a modified stock manifold for now just to try guarantee emissions pass
It's only on a cg10 but will be nice to see what it will put out
If I can source a cg13 I will go that route

I already bought, fitted, removed and sold my ga16 injectors lol, were easy enough to get hold of though, I couldn't back the fueling off enough to use em without boost and managed to sell em at a profit...

I thought as the maf is in the throttle body it wouldn't be a problem, but someone's obviously done the research for the kit so I'll look into that.

That's excactly what i would like to know. How good can the CG10 get. It always is in the shadow of its bigger brother. I'm sure it's safer to rev high.
Some ECU tuning and slight Supercharging might make it a really fun machine. I mean, the situation is that cg10 got wasted everywhere, because nobody give a ... about them. They are cheap to find (were, cuz getting less an less).

Tis a nice tidy kit though
looks to me like the intercooler is more a waste of space and weight. I think it might create more drag then help performance.

Also for the CG10 i thought a AMR300 would be more fitting then the amr500. Should be easier to spin and max 10 psi should be possible(still not preferred), but i don't know the math. Though i'm sure you want to keep the load for the engine as low as possible.

For me, i wanted to start with an ECU-tuning, but as a total beginner i don't know which way to go...
