    Is this OBD1 sockets adaptor

No that is just some sort of plug on the loom. If they have a diagnostic port it will be Nissan Consult shape, but I suspect they don't have a port at all

    SuperTurbo Project Help

Hey Frank, I obviously don't have back to back results with the same size turbo, but 10% more efficient is 10% more efficient no matter how small the number. I actually found the stock turbo to be very laggy (full boost around 4.5k) and clearly Nissan did too because they fit a supercharger :)...

    SuperTurbo Project Help

I don't know the detailed specs or directly compatible parts; but I did get mine rebuilt with larger wheels and a ball bearing core. Any decent turbo shop could do that, you should expect 20-50% more airflow (at about the same revs due to moving to a ball bearing core)

    Crankshaft

so that means the remaining questions is...does anyone know if the ma12 crank fits in the ma09 block without fouling :) stroked super turbo, would give about 1.1l with the ST cylinders

have you got a pic of the injector? in other nissan setups they work fine without the plastic cap I am not sure in the ST

how sure are you that the timing is correct? you can get some really lazy down low reponse with a belt 1 tooth out. Or maybe you are just expecting too much down low from 900cc :)

fair enough, sounds like a run on a dyno is in order :)

My 1989 March Super Turbo Rebuild

I would not worry at all about minor or even medium black smoke on gear changes....it should be running reasonably rich on the track to keep everything cool and safe. Do you have a dyno graph with AFRs? Unless they are under 11.5:1 there is nothing to worry about, even then it's not so bad

    Ma09ERT prep for install

actually....considering the size and complexity of the job I reckon you're doing well :) the other guys here will know more about stock boost and the ECU errors, but the "stumbling" is likely to be ignition breakdown. Are the plugs in good condition, and what are they gapped to? Are the leads...

    Ma09ERT prep for install

Yep it should rise directly with boost, ie 1 bar of boost adds 1 bar(14.5psi). I don't know the correct base pressure for these motors, skylines run 40psi for reference (with the regulator's vacuum hose off)

    Ma09ERT prep for install

welll a fuel pump, FPR or injector issue could all cause that. as could something simple like a bad earth. Put a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on the inlet side and check your base pressure is OK, and also that you do not lose pressure as you go up in revs + boost

Is fuel consumption related to foot on the throttle :) They do make a lot of power for a small car

My 1989 March Super Turbo Rebuild

sounds like an excellent swap...it would be nice to have more accurate spark timing and being able to do away with the dizzy etc. Will it be 1 coil per cylinder?

    Forged Pistons

umm I am probably missing the point, is the rod/stroke ratio on these motors that bad? any good forged piston, with clearances carefully set to manufacturer's recommendaton will be fine in pretty much any condition. if you are really expecting to use all of the strength of a forged piston you...
