    K11 door speaker wiring

Hi everyone, I'm going to be installing my speakers/amps/sub today hopefully. Question that doesn't seem to have come up (I've searched quite a bit!) is regarding putting new wires in to the door speakers from an amp... Has anybody done it, is there any particular way on micras that's...

    Diesel K11 info

It's another year, but my questions still want answering! :D These ones: 1. Is it the TUD engine? 2. What gearbox does it use, the pug or the CG box? 3. Does that mean that the TUD is a direct drop in (i.e. could I go to a scrappy and get one out of a Peugeot and drop it straight...

    water jets - fuse?

Mine freezes! If it freezes just in the pipes and nozzles, you'll hear the pump but no water wil lcome up. But if the entire thing is frozen, then you won't hear anything, it'll just not work. As said previously, let it warm up (it'll take an AGE to thaw the washer tank and pump), and add...

Not so good in the snow

Mine is doing absolutely fine, and it's on cheapo asian tyres. Just drive really carefully, and yeah obviously it tends to stray sometimes, but nothing unexpected or problematic. What you want to do is get a glass of water and put it in your lap, then drive without spilling it! Will teach you...

    Alternator options

In light of the upcoming 750w (RMS) install into the little micra, I'd like to get an uprated alternator to go on at the same time. Are there any from other Nissans which are a direct swap? Something off a big diesel probs? If it's over 110 amps, that would be nice (no clue what the...

    Diesel K11 info

Right, from what I can gather online, the diesel Micra was available in other markets with the Peugeot 1.5 diesel engine. Several questions: Is it the TUD engine? What gearbox does it use, the pug or the CG box? Does that mean that the TUD is a direct drop in (i.e. could I go to a scrappy...

    Removing side strips

Yeah they definitely haven't had any repairs... Which is probably not ideal, as there's lots of scuffs etc. on the door. That's one of the reasons I wanted to remove the strips, since I have to go over the whole door with a good dose of T-Cut! Cheers everyone, looks like it's hair dryer time.

    Removing side strips

I've got a 1999 T Reg 1.3 Si, with the kind of swoosh side strips. They're colour coded to the car so don't stick out like the black plastic ones, but I still would like to remove them to have cleaner lines... What's involved, will I need to repaint anything at all? (not keen as it's a...

    Non starter

How do you know there's fuel going to the fuel rail? (And not just residual fuel in it?). Have you checked that your fuel pump works? (i.e. makes a sound and all).

    Frozen locks

Yep I've tried it. Best way to unfreeze a lock's internals is to get a spare key that's all metal, put it into the lock, and then simply heat the exposed end of it with a lighter. As said by a few others, lubing your locks will stop them icing over in the first place.

    Frozen locks

(Just a note: heating the key doesn't work if you can't get it into the lock in the first place, it just works well if the lock is frozen so you can't turn the key inside)

    Frozen locks

You can also simply use a lighter... heat the key, or the metal part of the lock directly (I can't remember whether the micra lock surround is metal or plastic). It shouldn't take long to thaw (i.e. a few seconds bursts), and it won't damage your paintwork if you don't hold it for long against...

Weird electrical ticking? and fogs issue

Might be the speedo cable.. If it's speed related, but not engine related then it's either: Speedo Cable, Wheels Brake Discs CV Joints Wheel bearings Rear drums The only other thing worth checking (which drove me MENTAL on my last car) is if you go on some gravel (like a drive), you can get a...

Do not fly British Airways (not that you can...)

Bloody thieves. Cannot go home to spend christmas with my family in Cyprus now. I particularly like the fact that they'll change your flight (which doesn't help me as my work holiday is between the strike dates) or get a refund, and all you need to do is call them. When you call...

    chicks micra annoyin me!.. advice?

How on EARTH are your plugs getting damp?!?! Unless your HT leads are majorly screwed, there is absolutely no way any electrical connections in the high voltage ignition circuit should be getting damp (unless of course you cross a river). If you're sure that's the problem (I'm dubious), then a...
