Removed the ceramic catylitic convertor from my Micra by taking of the exhaust manifold and bashing the ceramic out of the cat. Installed a spacer for the rear O2 sensor and went for a drive. More get up and go and NO check engine light. Will post fuel consumption figures at a later date.

Had a drive in one of the STI 1.5l manual's yesterday. They go really well, the engine is very responsive despite only having 48km on the clock (brand new). The engine is so quiet it makes the road noise seem loud. Very impressed.

Went to an exhaust place to get a cat bypass made up. The bloke said that it could not be done as the car was EURO4 compliant and that it would not run except in limp mode if I had it done. Is this correct? 2009 K12 1.4 auto.
