The black plasic around the radio has 4 screws holding it in, removing the ash tray exposes 2 and the other 2 can be seen just above the radio if u duck down to look up at them. Then the plastic clips out and you can unscrew the radio and check the wiring :] not sure about the boot tho

Find out which wire supplies the power to the light for the air bag on the pod and cut it , would save you 30 quid ?

dunno if this helps but theres at least 2 wires that give power in the radio as i found out when tampering to get my live line from it i just rolled up the copper on the live and stuck it in the holes on the block from the radio til i found one that only gave power when the key was turned...

ive got a dash pod rev counter atm tom and i havnt yet fixed it down , was going to use some self tappers but your going to have to drill through your dash any way to get the wires through ? (although the angle of the window made it impossible for me so i used a hand held bore thingie) i did...

i used plastikote primer painting it sleeper ss , it would have been easy enough just like the door panels but one of the previous owners must have used a cleaning spray or somthing to make the dash shiney and it bubbled like crazy on my first attemt ... on second go i sanded it down twice as...

thanks for the advice im going to give it a go now and yes sleeper ss im painting it black and a bit red to match the door cards i did the other week. Was pleased with the result so i figure the dash has to follow :D

its 4/5 in haynes but i dont like using that as a difficulty guide because it says i must be an expert which im not but i still like to think i could remove a dash ^^

yeah liking the removal of the black strips , i need to get round to doin that but with the amount of scrapes ect to my bumpers i;ll probably just get em fully resprayed

I know its hard to say how difficult somthing is as some people think some things are easy that others would struggle with but i want to remove my dash board. I've already technically got the steering wheel out as i put a custom boss kit jobby on which is easy to remove and no passanger air bag...

Turned out i flooded the engine testing the rev counter -_-

ah well at least its a cheap mistake lol. Thanks , ill check tomorrow when its light and sort it out
