Recently had similar problems with my cube (same setup mechanically as the k12) First it was the ECU fuse kept shorting due to a bad earth on the ECU and then the coil pack connector plugs started melting due to bad earth on the engine and earth to the coil pack connectors themselves.

I'd recommend getting a set of bros clazzio ones imported from Japan.

You need to post a photo of the springs themselves to say. If the diameter of the spring stays the same the full length of the spring and the last coil isn't "flat" at both ends then you can cut them. (If only one end of the coil is flat then cut the opposite end)

There's a guy on retro rides that made one out of a skateboard - just took wheels and mounts off and bolted it to the roof bars. Looks spot on. :)

Hi folks Hope you can help. I have the dreaded timing chain issue although the teeth on my VVT sprocket are also worn so this needs replacing too which is where lies my problem. First up the blueprint timing chain kit didn't include the vvt sprocket so that's being returned and refunded...

Hello, sorry I should have updated my thread at the time. I bought a replacement through Nissan, giving them my chassis number, they ordered it in and took a couple of days to arrive. Cost was £8 IIRC. It was pretty stiff to remove, I think I levered it out with a narrow screwdriver...

The 2002 - 2005 cube is fitted with the CR14DE engine (Same as the 1.4 K12) mated to an auto box. (Not sure if this is the same box as the automatic K12.) I'd be tempted to do a 160SR transplant if the engine needed swapping.

Does anyone know the correct torque settings for the spark plugs and the intake manifold as last time I swapped mine I worried they were too loose / too tight.
