Imagine taking out back seat would make it noticeably quicker. Aftermarket alloys would as well', as originals are bloody heavy.

My dad had a 1.4 sport when they first came out. I wasnt driving at the time. As a passenger, thought the handling was stunning. Is why i got one. Has the same chassis is the clio which explains the exceptional handling.

Yes, it does in mine. Didnt realise in 3 years ive owned it. Given the substancial weight, size of the frame, and mountings, would think it does add additional rigidity. Not sure whether its needed though. Nissan blatantly added it, to give it additional weight, so same suspension and wheel set...

Had to remove back seat in my 160sr, as the seat was stuck down, due to a brojen belt mechanism. Discoverred the back seats are on runners, and the seat itself is mounted on a box tubular steel frame. Was astounded by the weight of it. Am a strong bloke, but could only just lift it. It looks...

2 years of driving my 160sr, after quute a few mods.

Thought I'd let people know how my mods turned out. Have been driving my 160sr for 2 years now. Lowered it, with eibach springs, hated the ride. Replaced shocks with bilstein b8s, still too harsh, so went back to standard Sr springs. Had smaller wheels fitted, with bigger tyres, that helped...

    Micra musings

2 years of driving my 160sr now, still enjoying it, especially in the colder weather, with a bit more pep. Hadn't driven for a long time, before I got it, but remember as a passenger in my dad's new 1.3 sve when they came out in 03, that it felt like driving on rails, very accurate and agile...

    2007 K12 Micra C+C Automatic

Some things drive you mental. Lowering my car last year did me in. Spent a fortune. Had to put original springs back on. Sometime later, someone said I should have had different size/adjustable drop links fitted as well, when lowering. I've tucked the thought away, as quite a few mechanics said...

You may well have identified the issue then, the steering box. I had a look at previous posts, one was similar, and a replacement steering box sorted it. Would be good if you got one from a low mileage one?

That's ones I had and sold to a c+c owner. The c+c around the corner from me had same ones. Looks like that's what the early 1.6 had.

Sorry, you are correct. Looks like 1.4 has 175/60/15. The older 1.6 had the 185/50/16

I'd take yours to a suspension specialist to get it checked out.

I also had entire suspension replaced prior. Had it lowered by 35mm with eibachs. Bloody horrible/harsh ride, so had it raised back up.

    2007 K12 Micra C+C Automatic

I replaced mine last year. There was a c+c just around corner from me. Exact same spec wheels as mine. I didn't like ride, so changed. Asked the owner what ride was like, she said very comfortable. I put it down to the c+c being heavier.

    2007 K12 Micra C+C Automatic

Pretty sure yours should have the 185/50/16, as well as mine. I replaced mine with 185/60/14. Sold my originals, they were immaculate, to a C+C owner, as direct replacements for his scruffy ones. Something is wrong with your set up, to have fractured the springs. They rarely brake.

If your wheels àre incorrect, it could throw out the suspension geometry. Fractured springs sounds like something isn't right with the set up.

The standard wheels give a comfortable ride.

Hello, I don't think you have the correct wheels. I think they should be 185/55/16, same as the 160sr.. The circumference of yours would be similar, but not sure about the offset, if they are not standard, which might give you issues.
