MIsfire - Done the normal replacements, still struggling some. Any Ideas?

Update - we checked the compression and good news, it's solid and consistent. The No.3 plug I mentioned was a bit dark and oily. We ordered and fitted a replacement injector and indeed the misfire has gone! Good news but now we have mad idle variation and hunting. And so I guess it's throttle...

MIsfire - Done the normal replacements, still struggling some. Any Ideas?

No the water in the rad and header is unusually clean and anti freeze coloured .... amazingly so, no discolouration as all. Odd in a car this age. Finger crossed it's an injector but otherwise we start looking at that later today.

MIsfire - Done the normal replacements, still struggling some. Any Ideas?

Good call Bubba .... no I didn't. We have just removed the injectors and No.3 seems off. We just going to swap 3 and 4 and see what happens. But no I didn't think to test compression. We not loosing a drop of water to fingers crossed not head gasket. We are dropping some oil . I think that's...

MIsfire - Done the normal replacements, still struggling some. Any Ideas?

Morning all. Had a misfire for the last few weeks. Car is a 94 1.0 Base model, all standard, no mods. Car starts a treat, runs but power low and running rough. This is what I've done today: 1. Changed plugs for nice fresh NGK's .... 1 & 2 were a nice colour, 3 & 4 were quite dark and a bit...

Workhorse becoming a classic? Worth to Restore? Where to get parts?

100% and had thought similar. The Micra ate that journey and it wasn't years ago it was days before the pandemic 1st Jan 2019. Think I did a post and photos on here somewhere. I'm not good at searching but yes I definitely did a post on it which you can find and read. Never missed a beat. In...

Workhorse becoming a classic? Worth to Restore? Where to get parts?

Agree they look great and have looked at a few of these. Very tempting. But the whole point of this one it that it has done the full journey there and back over many years. It's the carry on the journey with the same car but to give it a late life refresh. Even if that has a cost to it...

Workhorse becoming a classic? Worth to Restore? Where to get parts?

Hi Paul. Yes I agree and that's in reality what we have been doing for many years now, including the welding .... this thing has been used hard, maintained hard, And yes we do follow and discuss the bangernomics principles on the site. It's had the front ripped off it and replaced, been used by...

Article Today in Auto Express - Nissan Micra (Mk2, 1992-2002) icon review

Evening all. A nice article in today's Auto Express looking back at the K11. They conclude .... "As simple, honest transportation, the second-generation Micra nailed the brief (arguably in a more successful fashion than its less impressive successors), and continues to do so to this day. The...

    the joy of welding

Seems to be the case. I'd been having a steadily increasing stream of folks knocking on the door asking if we want to sell the Micra or the same age 106. We are regularly getting a couple a month now and they seem serious about it. Yeah I also do that every now and again ... an ebay search for...

    the joy of welding

Yeah that would be good to see. I hope he's true to his word. In a way, passing on these things is an even better accolade of their durability and fitness for purpose. I wander if given the price of fuel and the state of the economy upon people, if there might be a return to keeping older...

    the joy of welding

A first class Micra story bls. They really play such a roll in people's real world stories. The number of times our unit has come to people's rescue I cannot count. Divorces, learning to drive, money issues, you name it. They throw it back each time the 'life emergency' has gone but it is...

    Breaking Micra K11 news!!!

The big 30. Blimey yours older than mine. Problem is with Micras is that some users concentrated on the polish, the gear knob, steering wheel and tinted glass more than the front cross member, inner sills, outer sills and rear mud flap inner mounts :) It's less sexy looking at those. Mine's...
