I had a bad problem with brakes snatching. Front discs seemed okay with about 5mm of pad left on them, but solved problem by changing them for new ones.

2nd time it happened I just bent the pins very slightly to improve contact and this worked. On 3rd occasion it turned out to be bad wiring connection at fan motor under top of dashboard. See posting by John.D on November 2018 under "Heater Fan Fault on K12

Thanks Guy, for comments, Eventually sourced problem at footwell inside car. Pinchbolt on lower steering shaft knuckle joint was slightly loose.This produced "knocking" sound even though steering very positive with no slack. Big relief ! Figured out what a Rolla was too!

Grinding noise has developed when swinging steering to right only, even when car stopped. Have checked track rod ball joints inners and outers and even steering rack bolts without finding source. Noise only occurs at beginning of swing. Could be rack itself but hope not. Any ideas ?

Yes it is. My old notes mention undoing 5 screws to pull glove compartment out.This gives access to blower motor resistor. Then remove electrical connector by pressing white tab and prise out with screwdriver.Two "star" headed screws are then removed to take resistor out. .Can't remember any more
