I've now gone and welded the rear of the sills, replaced the brake hoses and brake pipes, bought a new battery and fitted the new wing and will be putting it in for MOT on Thursday! One more K10 saved!

I set the valves to 0.22 on the inlet and 0.27 on the exhaust and it now runs lovely with absolutely no tapping!! Thanks all!

Yes, but also a spark plug gauge as I find it's difficult to get a 'blade' between the gap (due to height of surrounding head/rockers, etc). I'll do it again this weekend - there was definitely wear on it though, you could tell. Can you buy new sets of these btw? (rockers and tappets?)

If it dies once it's warm, it may be the carburettor - the choke mechanism is operated by a coiled heater which opens the top 'choke' throttle flap/plate. Oil runs at a higher pressure than water. In time, the water will eventually mix with the oil, and you'll get it in the expansion tank, and when it does go (a proper HGF), it'll be everywhere.
