5 Door K11 seat belt woes!

If you happen to go to a car breaker, make sure you put cable ties around the seat belts to stop them retracting and just take them off and fit them exactly as they are. I fully retracted a seat belt and it would not open up again.

front wheels spinning going around a round about when accelerating

I thought something was seriously wrong with the micra when going around a roundabout the wheels started spinning and losing grip while accelerating. I discovered the problem was the road surface. Due to hundreds of cars going around this roundabout, the road surface has been polished as...

MOT "Service brake imbalance requirements only just met. It would appear that the braking system requires adjustment or repair. Rear (1.2.1(b)(i))"

Just to update this thread, the abs unit was the culprit all along. If you get a brake imbalance advisory on your MOT, start with the abs unit. Fitting new brake pistons, seals, hoses etc won't do anything.

Front left brake is grabbing more than the right front brake - solved abs pump failure

The garage are going to fit a new abs module. The part will cost £1000 and it will take at least a week as the part is coming from Europe. In total it will cost around £1200 as they have already done some work on the car such as fitting a new control arm and bleeding / testing the brakes to...

Front left brake is grabbing more than the right front brake - solved abs pump failure

The garage informed me today that they are pretty sure it is the abs pump. He said he might not be able to find the part and it won't be cheap. I looked on ebay and they are as cheap as chips. So I will probably collect the car tomorrow and pay him for the diagnostics. I will probably have...

Front left brake is grabbing more than the right front brake - solved abs pump failure

Yes I put brake fluid on before installing. I have red rubber grease but didn't use it this time in case it was doing something weird. I just reverted back to the old piston and seal. update: fitted old piston and seal and it made no difference. I have no clue what's going on with the...

Front left brake is grabbing more than the right front brake - solved abs pump failure

Went out for a few miles drive last night and all the time the brake pedal was doing the same thing - Pump the pedal and then hold it and the pedal sinks to the floor. Checked all over no leaks. Brake master cylinder fully topped up and no lose of fluid. So I remembered what my old boss...

Front left brake is grabbing more than the right front brake - solved abs pump failure

Yes, if I pump and get a firm pedal and hold it the pedal sinks slowly to the floor. I will check all over for leaks and report back.

    K13 reliability - any good?

Don't get the k13. I replaced the passenger lower control arm 2 years ago with a brand new one (Borg and Beck) and it's failed after only a few thousand miles. Update: my recent MOT showed the offside control arm bush is starting to wear, so another operation to replace it.
