Well it took me way to long to find this post but I remember you mentioned the tune from the charger and I suspect that its a Makita unit. Did you know you can change the tune?...

Nice work on the cart, how's the TIG welding coming along?

    MAP or Alpha N tuning?

Alpha N worked better for me because my throttle bodies where over sized and produced no vacuum over 20% open

I bought one of these, only 3" wheels so pretty compact. The flexible extension has come in handy as well. https://www.aldi.co.uk/workzone-mini-bench-grinder/p/076431138604100

A few things no forgot to say... Its worth checking out welding tips and tricks on YouTube. His videos are a great learning aid. Clean your metal and when you think it's clean, clean it some more. ( Including the earth point) Get a dedicated machine/wheel for grinding tungsten. Trust me you...

Very good choice. I have the same machine & helmet. You will probably use that whole bottle just practicing and trust me it's all practice practice practice when it comes to learning TIG the 4hrs training is a nice option. Personally I don't have an issue with the larger 26 torch but everything...

I think you should be charging £40 per hour not job! Many years ago the MOT station I use where charging £10 per inch of weld and apparently that was cheap ?. Luckily I've always done my own repair/ restoration I've lost count of how many mini door step and sill jobs I've done now and these...

It will be interesting to hear your review of the band saw after you have lived with a bit longer. I've been eyeing up them (and similar) for a while but have yet to pull the trigger on buying one.

I can sort of see that logic, you have a pretty decent wall thickness and the pulsed mig would probably have been fine

Love your work as usual, I'm at a bit of a loss, why did you weld the bar together then machine for the bearings?

Do you have an impact driver? They are great for spinning the bolt in the bush and freeing themselves

Same here, both my welders should have a 16A plug/supply but they have been running 13A fuses. I've had the occasional fuse pop but it's a quick fix and back to it. It's rare I find myself needing to weld at max amps

I thought the same but once you have the ability to weld aluminium you wonder how the hell you managed without it. It's certainly worth saving longer to get an AC capable machine. It's a huge outlay of money and with things the way they are at the moment it's probably not the best time to...

Trust me you won't regret getting a TIG, it's certainly worth getting an AC/DC machine. I spent months researching machines before I finally settled on one from R Tec and it's great. It's quite a steep learning curve ( it makes learning mig a complete breeze in comparison) and now with the...

Good work as always! i personally would have fitted the antenna to the rear screen as that placement would really mess with my OCD when driving

I haven't been on here for a while and I come back to some great updates form you. You certainly won't regret going standalone, (I've been banging that drum for years but not many seem to take notice). I haven't used an omex myself but hopefully it's a chance for you to ditch the MAF sensor...

Have you ever thought of going down the starlet-mica hybrid manifold route? Or even a fusion manifold?
