Don't know if anyone might be interested but these seem like a bargain. For sale on ebay under item # 190111607773 are a number of sets of front K11 shockers. They are made in Japan and are gas filled. Might even be Kyaba.
Price £45 per pair plus £15 postage.
I am very interested in this. We have a project on at the moment for "Twocers" in conjunction with the local Traffic Fuzz and this would be ideal. There's space in the workshop as we've just cleared out all the old rally cars and the 911!
Pmail me ASAP!
If they're suitable for a 1.0 litre I'll have one for £35 inc postage. Deal? It's needed pronto as I have to send two units off for remanufacturing ASAP. They are for Miss Daisy off on the Mongol Rally July. Can pay PayPal.
I already have one!
One way or the other, you should expect more than two years' use out of the effing thing. I think that you will find, if you talk to your local Trading Standards people, that you have a comeback against the retailer involved!
Do you have or know a good place to source:
Front wheel bearings?*
Inexpensive front gas S/As?
Uprated springs - standard height?**
Washer bottle top?
N/S door (3 dr '96)?
*I believe that the K11 has the same size bearings as a particular Mercedes - does anyone know...
Attention to detail reduces the chances of not getting there and is far less expensive than the consequences!
Fordy thanks for that. We'll look into it next week. It's good to pick up tips from you guys! The supplementary airbox will be home (workshop) made.
Spotted the comments about potential K11's vulnerabilities! We have mapped out the route re. octane rating and it is just a matter of adding the right amount of octane booster. Nissan Technical were helpful and did not consider that a lower compression ratio h/g was required. The car does...
We paid £215 for Team Miss Daisy's K11 - a 42,000 (genuine) mile slightly tatty example. Sailed through MOT.
There are plenty about at that sort of money though slightly higher mileage. Of course it depends where you are. We shall be making up templates for the tank and sump guard and also...
Team Miss daisy has now accumulated 10 13" alloys with another 4 in the pipeline! We are probably going to get rid of one set - they need refurbishing - 5 spoke originals with the large centre covers. There are reasonable tyres on but quite frankly I wouldn't want them!
We would want a firm...
Thanks for the info about Matt Humphris. I have spoken to him but his prices are too rich for us. We'll end up making the guards from Dural I expect. He has been very helpful with technical information and advice though.
Let me know what you want for the pump when you have...
If you have any bits that you think might be useful for MISS DAISY, a 1.0 K11 which is being driven to Mongolia in July on the '07 Mongolian by two very nice girls, please let me know.
We'll have a load of standard bits over after the car has been prepared so I'll have to get rid of those...
We decided to approach KYB to see if they could help with the supply of shockers and any other suspension items for the TEAM MISS DAISY Mongol Rally '07 K11 Micra :k11yellow . The approach was via KYB's UK PR company and after hearing nothing for three weeks I phoned to be told that KYB were...
Carb was probably icing up. Very common on carburettored K10s. Make sure that you are getting warm air via the intake. If it persists run a piece of separate flexi hose from a pick up point close to the exhaust manifold pointed as close to the carb body as possible.
Incidentally the K10...
