    1400 rally car shenanigans

End result actually looks better than I expected! If I was building a fancy high spec car, I'd have paid the money, however for the £30 I paid it looks OK :) Sent from my CLT-L09 using Micra Sports Club mobile app

    1400 rally car shenanigans

Ordered a home "dash flocking kit" to try and tidy up the interior of the car a bit - was aware it would probably end up patchy and if it did, I'd get the spare dash sent off to be flocked professionally. Home kit is £35 and professional is £100-150 so I figured if I did a job that looked half...

Having messed around with windscreens a few times when cars have been rolled on races, it really really sucks.... I'd fill the gap with tiger seal for the trackday, then look at trying to fix it yourself after / get someone in if your fix doesn't work - be annoying to miss the trackday if...

    1400 rally car shenanigans

Been tinkering with the car these last few days as I've finallt submitted my university dissertation on manufacturing process optimisation and control... A truly riveting topic once you get into it, promise...! I want new springs as a mininum for the car, but having no money at the moment is a...

    1400 rally car shenanigans

Had a very rainy trackday a few weeks ago now at Oulton Park. Drove without issue considering I dragged it out of hibernation with only an oil change...! Brakes were a bit numb, potentially wants fresh fluid and the pads given a bit of a scrub or replaced. Always amusing keeping up with Type...

Cable running over the rocker has always annoyed me, just never enough to think about moving it... Can't imagine it being a problem, if the pedal doesn't feel drastically different I'd call it fine! @John_D I've yet to see you post something good about the work Paul's done yet, on his own...

The forces from the Damper are directed up vertically not side to side, so being narrow shouldn't pose too much of an issue. Given the maintenence and attention Paul gives to his car, I think he'd notice any fatigue or cracking if it did arise. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Micra Sports Club...

45 psi is a pretty high tyre pressure is it not Do you not find it wearing the middle of the tyre prematurely? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Micra Sports Club mobile app

what did you do to your micra today ?

Mines stripped out with sound deadening removed, but a roll cage fitted, so comes in at 850kg. With a proper 'dyno' 112hp it did the 1/4 in a shade over 16 secs, albeit with a sticky caliper. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Micra Sports Club mobile app

Do you set your alignment yourself or get it done 'properly' at a shop? I'm fed up of having to get the alignment set after fiddling with something... Sent from my CLT-L09 using Micra Sports Club mobile app

    Urgent question

You'll have an engine light on and a serious exhaust leak unless you bung up the hole. The after Cat O2 sensor if missing will put an EML light on but "shouldn't" affect running, the before cat O2 sensor does affect running if missing. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Micra Sports Club mobile app

@pollyp I assumed vinyl wrapping was impossible to do well when I first tried as my attempt failed horribly... Now, after wrapping little bits on my car and doing full liveries on friends cars it seems that buying "expensive / quality" vinyl makes a massive difference as I can wrap large...

    1400 rally car shenanigans

Sooo got the car back up and running! New clutch from Helix / Questmead arrived and after a few mistakes by them, I finally got one delivered that was machined correctly and fitted... Pretty bad initially, butttt they've been quick to answer the phone and problems were solved relatively...

    1400 rally car shenanigans

Quick update, been a while.... Car raced at the last rally/race to be held at Rockingham and behaved beautifully with no issues! Can't remember class result, but did well considering I've barely driven over these past few years of uni! Clutch started slipping badly on event so bit the bullet...
