350 ish mile round trip the past couple of days, no problem
However when i start the car i can hear water sloshing about for a few seconds, something to do with trapped water or a blockage somewhere?
Sounds like its coming from under the bonnet around the firewall
Anyone know where this may...
Thermostat housing is cracked so im gonna try get hold of one tomorrow to swap, is it just 3 bolts pull it out and stick the new one on?
Also when swapping digital clocks on a 2nd facelift to rev counter, does the mileage update itself to correct mileage?
cheers
radiator was blocked up, kept chucking the water out into the expansion tank
new radiator on today has sorted everything, running 100% again
luckily it wasnt the head gasket :)
still losing water and bubbling in the rad and expansion tank
so ive come to the conclusion the radiator is blocked?
anyone experienced this problem?, am i best just getting a new rad or is there something i can use to unblock it?
thanks
followed these steps this morning, a lot of bubbles coming up, like a white foam forms on top of the radiator, also when i switch the engine off after a drive i can hear bubbles going into the expansion tank, is this most likely head gasket? the car still drives 100%
Friday 13th wasn't the best day for MOT, b*stard failed me on a small hole in the rear crossmember,
cars first bit of welding to be done now :(
rest of it is very solid seemed like he was looking for something
get some pipe to replace your air box and run the filter straight to the intake
you dont still have a filter in the box do you?
i agree with andy on the alloys, try pick up some cheap micra or almera alloys from a scrappy
power is fine and no smoke, i havent actually done the head gasket, just wondering if its gone
car seems to be running fine at the moment so will just leave it be, radiator is just being a bit tempermental
i put a new radiator cap on when i changed the thermostat, hope the head gasket hasnt failed either haha
everytime i stop and turn the engine off i can hear bubbles going going into the expansion tank or somewhere, not sure what is going on
what are the signs of a failed head gasket?
