Where does it go wrong? As the needles are just push fit

They didnt seem to be openable from outside as they didnt come when I was pulling them out, so I open them from inside... now I cant put them back together so they are correctly aligned.
I might try again but I think I will have to buy a new set

So if I get it right you just pull the needles from the front?

Yes the needle are pushed on from the front. But from factory they are hard to remove as they are pushed on tight.
