key fob not working

Has anyone had problems with their key fob? Mine hasn't worked for about two weeks. I had the fob battery changed three days ago, because the remote control locking/unlocking wasn't working. The fob was reprogrammed and should have worked, but the fob still it still doesn't lock or unlock the doors. The garage said it may be the remote sensor, but they didn't know where it might be.
Does anyone have any ideas or have had a similar problem and are able to tell me where it might be. Thanks

Can you enter programming mode? If so the module is likely good. If you enter programming mode and the blinkers wont flash when connecting the fob it’s most likely a bad fob. If you have the round fob with the key attached to it it most likely needs new micro switches

Thanks, but the indicators do flash, so it can be reprogramed. The remote has been tested and is working, it just doesn't lock or unlock the doors anymore. The Mechanic said it may be the responder box which is somewhere in the car or even possibly near the car aerial, but he didn't know where. Any idea where it may be? Anyone?

So they flash when it needs to program the fob? NOt only to indicate programming mode? Ive attached the programming instructions.

The module itself isnt a thing that fails often. On a lhd 2nd coilpack the module is near the steering wheel and on a lhd 1st facelift its between the blower motor and the chassis. I dont know if theyre in the same place on a rhd.
