So after some tips from Frank, my understanding is as follows, please correct me if I'm wrong...

The K10 clutch is 160mm and has a 16 tooth spline

The K11 clutch is 180mm and has an 18 tooth spline

The goal is to make a hybrid of the two using the 180mm friction plate (K11) mounted to the centre of the 16 tooth clutch (K10).

This is done by finding two clutches that have the mounting rivets in the same place / pattern so that they can be removed and the centres swapped...

I believe that this has been done with LuK clutches, so I ordered two that I thought might be compatible:

LuK 180mm 18 tooth spline = 618 3033 00

LuK 160mm 16 tooth spline = 616 0947 60

Unfortunately these don't look workable...

you may be able to change just the spline and cushdrive matt ? to save re-drilling (i had to sharpen a masonry drill to open up the holes about .5mm))

... unless once the centre of the 180mm clutch was removed, there is a suitable place to drill the narrower pattern.
This centre definitely seems to have both sets of holes in it, the 55mm 1.0 and the 82mm 1.3. Although in this picture even the 1.3 centre uses the 55mm hole spacing so I don't know, it so worth checking out I guess if the holes are hidden behind

Edit, this photo was taken from the Frank clutch guide in porks blog just for reference

@LiamC You may be right... the annoying thing is, the clutches aren't with me, they are with a friend of mine who is a mechanic and was happy to order the them on his trade account and have a look for me... to save me ordering two potentially useless clutches at RRP.

I think that these would probably work but it's £175 for the pair.

I will pull the clutch out of my donor K10 engine and box and see what the centre looks like.

Yeah I get you. Well there is always a chance that there's 8 holes in the centre. But luk clutches are pretty damn cheap on ebay, I was looking at these on ebay and the two full kits were coming in at just over 100 euro (I'm on the Emerald Isle). I'm hoping to find a supplier that will do a MA clutch kit and a CG friction plate only to save a little more but I haven't yet, still 100 euro isn't bad for a clutch that will take 140 hp according to the micra god himself

I have an update! Keeping an eye on ebay for cheap 180mm 18 tooth and 160mm 16 tooth clutches paid off.

I now have two Luk clutches with identical centres:

For reference:

160mm 16 tooth Nissan branded Luk clutch: 301005F600
180mm 18 tooth Luk branded Luk clutch: 318013611

They both have the following numbers stamped on the centres:
Gearbox side: 619 01
Flywheel side: 551 01

Hopefully this will help folks source compatible clutches in future.

I will be attempting to make the hybrid from these two clutches within the next week or so.

ok, cool, thanks.
Great to have seen an update here, I've been working on stripping my fig engine for a rebuild to go in my K10 shell so I'll be on the lookout for these bits too. I could never find the 180mm clutch plate on its own though so hopefully I don't have to shell out for a whole kit

you might weaken it matt ?
i shaved the corner down on the friction plate (with a grinder as the plate slowly spun on a shaft)

i ended up with 170mm on 1 side and 180mm on the other mate, grinding right down to the metal fingers
and took a lick off the pressure plate too (where you indicated)
underdo it and the clutch will drag

Hi all, I have completed the manual conversion on my Figaro using the hybrid clutch.

Big thanks to @frank !!

I did do exactly as @pork had done: made the hybrid clutch, grinding on the plate, grinding on the cover, ut the car together... only to find that the clutch wouldnt disengage from the flywheel!... took the car apart, did more grinding, put it back together again... all good!

My advice would be to grind the whole plate down to 170mm, then chamfer the edge to 45 degrees on the gearbox side. It worked for me.
