K11 Sparks...

Hello to you all and hope you're all doing well in lock-down!!

Here is a very basic NOOB question.

I am looking at spark plugs... I hear Iridium is best, and platinum is like close second. But, for just general driving, no rallying or ragging the car, would this type of plug be OK or too much?

I certainly don't think performance plugs are needed.

Also which plugs would people on here recommend? I have heard NGK and Bosch are "best" but there again so many different variants, I just want a good quality plug, that won't damage my engine.

first registration March 2002 - K11 1.0. Just as I know this is necessary to know when looking at plugs.

Thanks in advance.

I personally like to use Bosch super 4 spark plugs, they’re not so expensive and ensure a good spark. Before I had NGK R spark plugs and I think the Bosch ones are better.

I always run NGK problem free in many cars and 2nd or 3rd hand for some l
had alot of issue with Bosch plugs in near every Micra I've had,
This is a example of the last one I had ,
Super 4 and half had fallen out in 10k, and the others weren't much better tbh,

Nissan design engineers set up & matched the ignition system for optimal operational performance with the OEM specified NGK plugs for normal road use as the K11 was designed for.

Therefore why waste time & loads of money buying very long life plugs that are not suitable for the ignition system OEM design for little or no benefit except putting your hard earned money into the pockets of big business advertising marketer’s shareholders? ;)

Thank you. This is what I have been thinking. so standard NGKs are fine for what I am doing, I have so far stuck with NGKs anyway, but lockdown and looking around see there are other options.

Runs really well so why change it?

Thanks all for other replies too. Those bosch problems are scary to see. Would be interesting to hear if anyone has bought top end iridium stuff and see how they feel about those just on an interest to know basis??

This is why I love this forum. NO BS and sales tactics just honest Micra driver opinions from experience.
