It was. I've been after a clean pre facelift for a while and I spotted it on a drive and put a note through the door explaining I would hate to see it scrapped etc etc and didn't think I would hear anything more. Few days later my phone rang and an old guy explained he was getting his new car next year (this year) and he would ring if I was still interested so I explained that I was
So I got a phone call and I went to view it properly and he explained it's been in family since 2001 I think and we went for a drive .
So again he asked if I was still interested and if I wasn't then he would just put it on the curb with a sign in the window ....
Well I couldn't walk away because I just couldn't let it be a jr rally or banger car so I went in to sort the docs and then he whipped out the full history right back to first owner! Including the brochure you would get from the dealer with some cool pics and info
It does have little bad points like windscreen is delaminating. And slight bubbling inside the lip of rear arches but it's in better nick then the lx I had back in 2005 lol
Only problem i have is do i keep it original as a survivor with maybe a set of wheels on (which i have had for years
)
Or do I make it a little screamer
