Custom interior lighting

Interesting idea.

I'm imagining the adjustable shift light circuit from an aftermarket tachometer feeding the coil of an SPDT relay, in turn driving RGB LEDs - with the terminal for blue on the relay's NC and the red on the NO.

SPDT stands for 'single pole, double throw'. Read a little on electronics and components - you're going to need it. I have no electronics training or experience so I'm not the one to teach you or anybody else; I've just done plenty of reading (online etc) over the years.

Good luck!

You might be able to make a potential divider with the rev counter wire as the input (not sure how that would effect the actual reading, maybe make a parallel wire to it in case?). If you use a variable resistor you can fine tune the circuit to get to the right revs.
Edit: cant's seem to upload the image or a link to the image, Google image search "potential divider variable" instead

The output could then trigger the switch between blue and red lights, with a transistor or relay
