HELP - Dodgy idle

Hi folks, sorry if this has been covered before.

I'd noticed the idle was a bit lumpy all day, then just now stuck in traffic the engine just died. It started again fine straight away, and I drove the remaining half an hour home with the revs a bit high at lights (intentionally) to avoid it happening again.

Anything above idle it drives perfectly, revs perfectly and does everything else perfectly. Just now when I got back I let it idle naturally for 5 minutes and it didn't have any problems.

Temperature is fine, no warning lights etc. I couldn't tell what revs it was at when it died (i.e. if it was a bit too low) because I have a pov-spec car with no rev counter.

It's a 1992 K11, 1.0, 42k miles on the clock, serviced 2k ago. No known problems, no engine modifications other than an induction kit.

I'm assuming it's an idle control valve issue, and my first thought is to get to it (tomorrow) and inspect for gunk, but is there anything else I should look out for?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Felix
