Who said you needed a cape to be a hero? @John_D you're a bloody saint.

That being said, it looks like I'm in need of your help to. I've actually got one of those 2010 touchscreen radios, which has given me what appears to be a 7-digit serial number, and a 10 digit device number, 3135254 and 7612830023 respectively. Is that enough to work your wondrous magic? Thanks in advance!

Edit: ah, blaupunkt only. Shame. I don't suppose you'd know where I'd go to figure this out? I'm hopingi can do it without going to a dealer.

Looks like it's going to cost you one way or another. Not sure what a 'Main Stealer' will ask for the information, but THESE people will decode your unit for a mildly eye watering £45!....

Not the right number, there should be 12 numbers after 'BP'.....

FYI, anyone who has a BP stereo in a Nissan and it says "Wait 1 hour" do as follows:

1. Turn ignition on.
2. Turn radio power button on.
3. Get out of the car and walk away. Don't lock it, don't drive it, don't turn anything else on or off, don't breathe on it. Just walk away.
4. After 1 hour come back and the radio should say "_ _ _ _" or "0000" or something like that.
5. Don't turn anything on or off. Just get in and sit there. Don't breathe on it.
6. Enter correct code.
7. Press whatever other button you need to press to 'enter' the code.
8. Job's a good 'un. Enjoy :)

Just to put it here. My stereo is a Clarion one, double din and couldn't find an unlock code online. The legendary @John_D could not help either and directed me toward a dealer.

The official Nissan/Renault service in my country provided the code for a fee of around 10 euros. Not that expensive as I read some fees of 40-50 pounds in the UK. I did find a seller on ebay who said that he can provide codes for Clarion units, but I did not go that way since it was about a euro only cheaper than the "official" one.

Thanks again John, and thanks for helping to countless people.

Hello everyone,
I bought my first car, which is Micra K12 3 days ago and I'm very glad I've found this forums. Unfortunately my radio also requires the code that was not provided by previous owner and I would be more than happy if you could help me too. But for the start, could you tell me how do I find the serial number that everyone is posting here? I'm just a girl with the first car, so please do not laugh and forgive my ignorance. :p

Hi, the serial number of the tadio is engraved on the side and/or the back of the unit. To find it you have to remove the radio. On the K12 this entails removing the whole centre panel, including the the two face air vents. In formation on how to do it can be found HERE, but if you are not reasonably mechanically proficient it would be better to get a garage or an auto electrician to do it for you. The number that I need to supply the code starts with 'BP' followed by twelve numbers...

Thank you very much John for the reply. Does not look that complicated, maybe I'll try myself or ask a friend of mine to do it for me, and than I'll post a number here asking you kindly for the code.
