miles out of a tank

so came back from a trip from durham to london and around windsor and such which was 588miles over 4 days
and the car got to 392 miles on a single tank full and the fuel light just came one with 1 red bar left but we pulled up to get somthing to eat so filled it but alittle , but 1 bar is about 20odd miles from what i found so 410miles maybe 420 at a push so about 43 mpg to 44ish
but that did include traffic on the m25 , windsor and heathrow traffic which killed my left foot alittle aswell lol
and last time i did a run it did 400 miles (it did alot of carrying aswell which killed the fuel and the rear coils which are now sagging alittle )

does that sound any good for a k11 1.3?
only two mods may effect it is the ga16 airbox with a new filter and slight larger 185,60,14s continental eco contact 5

Well the larger profile tyres actually mean that you will have gone a bit further than the odometer thinks you have....(more than likely nearer to a more realistic figure) ...........

Quite possible yeah if not its more accurate
They are not much larger but did notice when compared to the satnav the !village was about right and speedo is 3mph over speed

I seem to be doing 360 miles from completely full to just below the last bar above the red... I'm using my micra as a London commuter from Swindon at the moment. I generally do 65 on the motorway and 150 mph when overtaking...

Most I've ever dared to go on my 1.3GX was something like 412miles to a tank but that took ~41litres to fill, so there really wasn't much left. Roughly 45mpg overall.

Most I've ever achieved on LPG was 372miles to a tank, which was ~40litres to fill, so about 42mpg overall (which for LPG, isn't bad at all given the calorific value difference).

The old filter tho before I changed it had been due for a while and the last week I had there was a noticeable mpg drop , but when u pulled it it was black and would not even let light through
But I'm running a cg16 airbox so if its got a std one it will affect it more due to been smaller
I havent checked mine but it was on the charged for on the service, Ill have to check it out and see how dirty it is. Apparently they are easy to clean?

It did not really make any difference plus the car was improved after it was fitted , also the tyres since I put alloys with bigger and wider continental eco contact 5 185/60/14 and the cast lost a lot or rolling restance over the older standard tyres

And a good service, cleaned the dizzy cap, NGK plugs, and sorted the breaks asthe o/s front kept sticking
I've somehow gone through a full tank since last Monday. Probably only averaged 30 miles a day, could be more though and I have been driving in rush hour to college and ragging it back before it gets busy. Plus I need a service soon haven't had one in about 5,000 miles...How did you stop you o/s brakes sticking as mine have started to do it occasionally? Just a clean and regrease job or any new parts?

Only 5k service? I'm doing mine at 9k which is going off spec
My o/s brake use to stick a lot and last time it stuck pretty hard in the wet then random let off ,almost cooked the brake lol
I ended up cleaning out the piston with wd40 and wound it in then pumped it right out and wind it back in afew times
I did buy a rebuild kit but never got around to it but originally when I did the brakes i did the mistake of copper slip the on the piston which dried out and caused a few problems with sticking after a while
It seems to have been OK for 3k miles now I think and I cleaned the rear drums as they were full of dust and glazed
And I can say along the the tyres I got the car seems to have a pretty low rolling resistance

I get 360ish miles on a tank. I have got 380 but I don't like pushing my luck. From when the red light comes on I don't do any more than 40miles. That's from a 1.4 with 1.0 gbox performance exhaust and Almera GTi airbox.

thats pretty good specially running a 1,0 box and such ,
only thing i do know the rear silencer and since i replaced it likes to whistle ,and most of the time sounds like a crappy turbo haha
i really need to get around to doing some work to her ,specially if i can get this sport+ sorted lol haha
its also due a service in 900miles now (9k service as spec says) which may improve ,possilby a clean out

I think so. I also put Slick50 into the gbox along with new gbox oil when I changed the engine recently. That seemed to make a difference.

9k? I didn't realise was just erring on the side of caution. That'll save me the money for another 4,000 miles then
