I like my car. I will also buy whatever car *I* like. As will anyone else. Does anyone get the feeling this thread has gone far enough off topic to warrant lockage?

PistonHeads.com: Scrappage Sends Classics To The Heap

As someone's already posted, it's alright getting nostalgic about all these cassics being scrapped, but if they're worth less than 2k it's likely their fairly knackered (because owners, no matter what people might like to think, are not going to scrap something worth more than that.) Also...

Still MOT'd from last year (by about a month!) Sills bodge welded by MOT test place, advised cross member was borderline. Car is held on SORN, which is allowed under scheme.

Wow, that baiting failed :D Basically, the micra is suffering from seriously terminal corrosion. Both sills+crossmember gone. Mice got in when it was sorned this year, and chewed the interior. Bad times. Now, I'm going on a rather well paid University (year long) placement. This coupled with...

Right, as this thread is winding up quite nicely, lets get everyone pent up; I am planning to scrap my micra under this scheme.

new car what should it be?

how much you got to spend?

Can someone explain this to me, please?

Just ring your insurance company and ask. "People on the internet said it was ok" will not standup in court.

    I know it's not a micra but....

Not really my cup of tea but looks quite nice. Was it standard when you bought it. If so, what was it like? Heard they go fairly well for a 1.5. Don't worry about leaving the micra fold, I probably will be in the next few weeks as well

Talk to a local instructor about this and get him to take you out for a couple of hours working on it? I'm not trying to be rude, btw! :)

IMHO that would be the worst thing possible for you atm. You must learn to keep the car under the limit yourself, rather than just letting it do it for you. You limit it to 70mph, what about when you're on a 50mph dual carriageway etc?

    drivimg over the limited help

Fair play for having the guts to admit you have a problem, rather than trying to justify it to yourself. I remember how when I first passed I used to justify driving at a higher-than-appropriate speed by thinking "I know the road" or "It's only me I injure/kill". It took one panic inducing skid...

Learn self control or do not drive 800kgs of lethal weapon on the public roads. Good old UK driver training.:wow:
