If you have not figured it out by now - it is located near to the front hood lock. Between the front bumper and the radiator. I did the same to my 2004 K12 and I found a free connector near the horn that was for the outside temperature sensor.

I have the same issue with my K12 keyless. It was deteriorating till last week, but the last 10 times I started it - it turns without a glitch. Soon I will remove the cover around the steering wheel and give it a good WD-40 spray, or something that will keep it lubricated.
