    Uneven tick over

Yow Frank. I did not see your reply. It seems to have good days and slightly bad days now. But nowhere as uneven. There are no fault lights on. I'll Google this idle control valve thing. Thanks for the reply.

    Uneven tick over

Yow all! 2005 Micra, 52k miles, serviced by garage every year. Last week we noticed that the tick over was lumpy so we took it to our garage. He had a good look round it, diagnosed clogged injector (s) and poured some stuff into the tank. He told me to drive the ******** thing as we are doing...

    Boot Lid Lock

When mine played up it would sometimes open, but mostly not open. The WD 40 made it always open. Somebody here posted a link where for £50 you send the lock away and they fix it. At the end of the day it is only a microswitch. In my younger days I would have had a crack at replacing the...

    Boot Lid Lock

Aye, I have seen this site and thought about it. Thing is that after blasting the microswitch with WD40 the lock has been working 100% One day I will make a seal, or use Vasoline to keep the water out. Its too cold out there at the moment!

    Garage Bill?

Belated thanks for the reply. Aye, he can have it again next MOT, but he is not gonna change the engine oil. It will have done 3k miles since the last oil change.

    Boot Lid Lock ... Reloaded!

Re: my posting on Micra boot lid not opening. I worked out that it was the microswitch that was playing up, so without taking it out of the housing I drowned it with WD40. It has been working perfectly ever since. When I get chance I'll use Vasoline to make a housing to boot seal.

    Boot Lid Lock

Safety item or not, the part is not fit for purpose. The part fitted was genuine Nissan and it really should not have failed in less than two years. I'm going to have a moan at them. I'll let this group know if I sue them for £20m. Thanks to you and the other guys for replying.

    Boot Lid Lock

If you Google this fault you will see that it is very well known. The part should not have failed again within two years, thus my mention of a complaint to Nissan. I do not agree with you about the car being past its economic life, few would. It is not in its 10th year Thanks for the reply and...

    Boot Lid Lock

Problems opening hatchback. Yup, I now know that this is a VERY well known problem. 2005 Micra, less than 50k miles. Within two years: New latch New switch Two breaks in wiring fixed at different times Not main dealer. Now, the micro switch is playing up and I'm pis*ed off! Okay, I've messed...

    Wiper Arm!!!!!!!

Good luck! Like I said, the wiper motor is about 4 years old. I put new blades on but the problem is just the same. Chris could be correct in that once taken off they never go back on the same way. I'm 1/2 way to giving up on the job :-(

    Garage Bill?

Right, thanks for that one :-) He charged £105 for the parts, I forgot to add the sump plug seal @ 40p..... The wife was moaning about the price and thinking of going somewhere else. Thing is that this guy DOES make a very good job. My days of lying on my back and working on cars are all over -...

    Garage Bill?

2005 Micra, 47k miles. I've been using the same garage for years, but he seems to be getting expensive. Last years MOT etc: Oil change / filter MOT preparation and MOT. MOT was £30. 2 wiper blades Clean out washer jets Replace o/s/ f lower suspension arm Replace o/s/ f tyre, balance, valve and...

    Wiper Arm!!!!!!!

One notch seems to send the end of the arm about 3 inches too far over! I dunno what to do now except to get the garage to try at MOT time.

    Wiper Arm!!!!!!!

Okay. I got the thing off by supporting the arm and hitting the loose nut with a hammer. I tried to adjust it on the splines, but one click of the spline moves the arm over too far. Two new wipers on now. The wiper is still belting the bottom trim, but only on full belt with the engine running...
