Thanks so much for all the help. Took it to a clutch place where they adjusted it (for free!) and it is now pretty much perfect. My husband still thinks it is a wee bit hard, but I'm driving it very happily and not embarrassing myself in car parks any more!!!!

Thanks. Got it. At the minute it literally has to be right to the floor to change gear. Will gauge how far up when moving off.

Thanks Frank. Do i just say to them to adjust it to 1/3 up? Will they look at me as if I am a mad woman? Or they should know what I'm talking about.

Oh, don't know if it relevant to this, suspect it may be though. When moving off in first, I have to very slowly release the clutch, otherwise it make a bit of a noise. As soon as I get up to a few mph, the noise stops. Doesn't do it at all if I let the clutch up slowly. Think I read somewhere...

Mckenziecz thanks for pointing me in the right direction. PollyP Thanks for the pics in your blog. Looks like you have solved the problem for us. There was no rubber seal around the scuttle panel clips at all and one clip was broken. Just trying to get Nissan to order the right clip for us now.
