K12 automatic gear shift button sticking

In my original post I said 'gear shift button' - I meant gear shift lever. There is a little button behind the gear shift lever which if you depress it, releases the lever and you can then move it easily. But remember to keep your foot on the brake when you do!

K12 automatic gear shift button sticking

Have a 2004 K12 automatic. As it's getting on, niggling little problems starting to happen. Just recently the gear shift button has started sticking, it can sometimes take a couple of minutes of jiggling before it will let me shift from Park to Drive or Reverse. This morning it took about 5...

    E10 in a K12

Thanks for that. Lots of articles out there warning that E10 fuel can cause all sorts of problems with older cars, like fuel line blockages, and the gov website states they accept no responsibility for any damage caused by using E10 fuel in a non-compatible car.

    E10 in a K12

Just been reading about E10 fuel. We have a K12 on a 54 reg plate, went to the gov website to check compatibility, it said all Nissan engines since 2000 were fine. I was hoping for a more specific answer. Does anybody know about compatibility, or the effects of E10 on fuel consumption and...

K12 security indicator warning light on red

Just had power steering problem fixed with recon unit. Local garage fitted 'new' unit for me, seems to be working fine. One thing I've noticed. Since I had the work done the security indicator light (the little car with the key) comes on red after I've been driving for about a mile, and stays...

    Power steering gone

Hi. You posted this link to my thread about PS problem with K12. Just called them, FYI they no longer supply those parts which come out of China. They said I need to keep looking for another motor factor, so if you know of anyone else....

    Power steering kaput

Hi, I've posted about this before, the PS on our K12 fails periodically but turning the engine off and back on again seems to clear the fault. It was only happening occasionally before, now it's happening more regularly. Took it into our local garage, (they're good and they fix any car), who...

    Power steering gone

Hi huttojb. Am London based. The fault happened while the missus was driving back home to London after a visit to Glasgow, she had been driving for about 10 hours. I used the car today - the PS warning light came on when I turned the ignition key halfway, then disappeared as I turned it all the...

    Power steering gone

Further to what I just posted about power steering problem, I went out to the car to see for myself. Turned on the ignition, PS warning light came on, then disappeared, power steering seemed to be working again! Any thoughts or experiences of this please?

    Power steering gone

The missus has just driven our K12 from Glasgow back to London. Just as she reached our road the power steering went and a PS warning light showed on the dash. Obviously I'll have to take the car to the local garage, any ideas on what the problem might be and what sort of garage bill to expect?

    012 0r 063

Thx for replying. Mine is an Exide 012. Confusing. The reason I'm considering a replacement is the missus didn't click the boot lid shut properly when she parked up and the following day the battery was completely dead. Not a peep. Called out Green Flag for assistance and once we'd got the car...

    012 0r 063

Hi. Firstly apologies, I think I just posted this question in the K12 blog by mistake. I need to replace the battery on our K12 S auto. The battery the local garage fitted 4 years ago is an 012. My online search for a new battery is advising me to fit an 063. The 012 seems to have been fine...

    ULEZ

Thanks for your reply. Yes, TFL say the car is OK now but I've read articles saying they intend to change the qualifying criteria when the zone is expanded. I guess I'll have to wait and see if that happens.

    ULEZ

This may have been discussed before but I've only just joined the forum, so apologies. We own a K12 - 1.2 auto - on a 54 reg plate. Lovely little motor. We live in London, within the North / South Circular zone. I don't know the car's engine rating (Euro 3 or 4?) and I'm getting conflicting...
