Could in not be the piston are bit sliding bqck.in plqces are your brake calipers are grinding against yoyr disc which is creating friction with the disc which is getting hot and other metals around it :) this is just a thought

were the drives rear light their should be a cable which you could connect the wires to but some model might not have them so worth a look at the back where the wiring is next to the rear drive taillight :) hope that is some help
