Micra C+C boot struts

2006 Micra C+C 1.6 Essenza
Hi, this is my first post here.
Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem I have with the boot struts becoming weak and the boot lowering on its own. Ive purchased a new pair so just about to tackle the problem. I can see that the struts are held in with a pin one end and the other end is behind the internal panels either side of the rear seat. Has anyone attempted to take these panels off? Im hoping its a simple quick yank in various points. Also do I require a specialist tool to remove the pin that holds the strut under the boot lid? Id be very grateful for any help any of you could offer. Thank you.

Hi, the weather has been pretty bad for the last two weeks here in Wales so theres been a delay in me doing the job, it looks pretty much simple. Im going to remove the rear passenger seat side panels for access to one end of the struts and then remove the pins that hold them in place under the boot trim and swap for new. Hopefully the trim is easily removed using my trim removal tools. I will update you on the outcome.

The trim removal tools I mentioned I've had for years, you can get them online easily, here's something similar https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B087WKQDY5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The sliver struts you show in your pictures are not the ones that you need to change to keep the boot lid up, look again below and slighly forward of those silver ones, you'll see the silver top of the struts being held in place with a pin the rest of the strut disappears inside behind the rear passenger trim. I'll get a pic tomorrow when its light.

Ive found the Nissan part numbers for the struts:
NISSAN - OE-90450BC10A
NISSAN - OE-90451BC10A

Hey folks, I've just picked up this thread, and relieved to have done so! Can anyone show me the panel that needs to be removed on the back seat, and how to do it, to be able to replace the boot struts on the Micra C+C. My boot lid on mine has gone limp and the garage have quoted me £300 for them to try to and replace the boot struts. They are claiming they would probably need to remove half of the convertible mechanism to do so... I think they are wrong, but I really need some help! Many thanks

Hello
I am also interested in this thread. A 2007 CC and now the boot lid feels like there is no gas strut at all - quite heavy to lift up and a rattle somewhere. I guess one strut is dead, or both are, or an internal bracket is sheered off.
Would be interested to hear any experiences in fixing
Is it back seat out? Panels off? Then fairly obvious? (and easy to do?)

How do you get the top pin out please?
I have removed trim inside the back seat area and can see the strut, The bottom end popped out easily but I can't see what I need to get the top end out...HELP!!!
