Help? K11 Turbo issue

So after blowing head gasket and rebuild. Tweaking the manifold and making some improvements + more space we bolted everything down, turned the key and great she starts... Then on WOT... Lots of petrol smell and it revs out about 3k and sounds like a lawn mower.

Anyone got any ideas?

that hunting sounds like some kind of limp mode eh
can you check any live data ? lambda output or ignition timing

Will struggle to check data. I thought it could be a limp mode. It's the same set up as last time that. Just turned the key and it ran.. now this ?
Lamba sensor in down pipe not plugged in as didn't have time to weld it in. It didn't stop the engine running before in anyway when turbo. Can sort it asap.

Timing is again the same as before when it ran fine ?

one of mine went weird like that once, and temp gauge shot up
was a (different colour ) japspec temp sensor iirc
a sensor shorting out or something maybe ?
valve timing issue maybe ?

It has previously overheated due to the blown head gasket. Unsure it could be an issue with timing and it would be present in the lower rev range and not effect WOT?
I will try to find a replacement temp sensor, I think it is the one under the distributor cap in head?
I've had to take some time away from it due to other commitments but I really want to get it up and running again ?

yes the 2 wire one, you could try disconnecting it,and the other sensors too
to see if it will rev properly then
Hi Frank, tried disconnecting and nope however tried something similar with the throttle body, you might know which are which but I disconnected the brown plug on the left (throttle position sensor?) And the brown plug at the front (MAF sensor) and it ran a lot better... Question - Scrap yard near me has a 1999 1.3 throttle body with all the sensors fitted, could I swap it out in my 1.0 and see if that cures my issue? Would it be compatible?
